What did you wear? We are going to be inside. I want to wear a sweater or long-sleeved shirt of some sort. I can''t find any ideas. If you could link your photos that would be helpful. Thanks in advance ladies!

I wore a classic dress (1950''s style - very jackie-O)... it was yellow and brown with a bow under the boobs - i also wore yellow shoes! it was cute!

I wore a black sleeveless, v-neck dress that was knee length with red wedge sandals... comfy and cute. Sorry our photog took the link down.

thanks ladies...I''m pretty pale with dark hair and am trying not to look pasty. I look pretty good in browns so I think I may stick with that color scheme...and don''t even get me started on what FI is wearing!

I thought I was being clever by having our wedding colors : FI in a navy blue sweater and me in a cream and dark pink argyle sweater..but our favorite shot ended up being a black and white one.

i wore a classic tea length navy blue dress with a sweetheart bust and a cute white sweater. B wore some "dressy" jeans and a brown jcrew sweater. super cute!

My photographer had us take several outfits. We ended up shooting in 3 different ones. He told us to take one dressier outfit, and several more casual ones. Just to be safe, you could take a few and get you photographers opinion.

Some tips the photographer gave us were:
1.Coordinate outfits but we didn't necessarily have to match.
2. Avoid wearing black tops unless we were going to be against a colored or brick background
3. Earth tones with a pop of color look the best

The outfit my photographers raved about was a brown and white dress that had a soft floral pattern and a bold pink sash. To compliment this, my fiance wore a LaCoste polo that was about the same color as my sash, with khaki slacks. This was our "dressier" outfit.

I should have some of our engagement photos by Friday, I can post them if you aren't having you photos taken before theb.

Have you thought about a wrap dress or something similar in dark purple? Eggplant is such a huge color this season, so you find it all over the stores, and wrap dresses are so universally flattering. They can have long sleeves as well.

Here are a few things that friends of mine wore:

1. Her: Black cocktail dress with swingy circle skirt (great for twirling photos!) and sky-high red heels. Him: black dress pants, a white French-cuff tuxedo shirt with the top button undone and the bowtie undone around his neck. Their backgrounds were very urban and included a vintage Rolls Royce. They were hot! Everyone thought their pictures were so fun and sassy.

2. Her: teal blue nicer T-shirt + medium wash jeans, cuffed to capris + brown loafer-esque flats. Him: dark jeans, black belt, long-sleeved collared shirt with teal, white and other blue stripes. Setting: around church and park (--> pretty innocuous). The outfits could have been better coordinated.

3. Her: black strappy high-heeled sandals + long, medium/dark-wash jeans + black and white geometric-patterned blouson off-the-shoulder shirt. Him: Untucked, gray collared shirt + medium/dark-wash jeans + black shoes. Setting: the French Quarter in NOLA. This couple looked very well coordinated, but in the black and white shots, her geometric-patterned shirt really popped and created a nice contrast with the more muted background.

4. Both: jeans + black coats + closed-toe boot-type shoes + big umbrella. Setting: park in Seattle, where it was raining (no big surprise there). The photos they sent out were just shots from behind of them walking in the rain under the same umbrella, and it turned out very cute.

Personally, the only ones I didn''t like were Couple 2''s. The teal shirts were non-matchy in a bad way, plus I think their photographer was so-so. All the other ones were interesting, romantic, showed off the couples'' personalities, and make them look good.

Hope that gives you some insight or food for thought.

Thanks everyone!! I tried to find a wrap dress Kittybean---I think it''s time to shop!!!

I went retro too!! I wore a red 50''s style eyelet button down dress by ABS and added a red heart patent leather belt, fishnets, and red peep toe pumps. We have gotten a million compliments on our engagement photos...I think it''s fun to do something a little different than the ol'' white button down and jeans on a beach.
