Wedding what to do with stamps for RSVP

we are offering the environmentally friendly option of RSVP''ing on our wedding website. we would like to encourage this option because it also saves us money on stamps. but i feel like it is customary to provide postage on the RSVP envelope. i would say that 3/4 of our guests will RSVP online and 1/4 will send in via snail mail.

should we provide postage to everyone? or to no one? or instead of sticking the stamp on the RSVP envelope, just enclose it for everyone but don''t actually stick it on the envelope?

The reason behind it is the guest should not have to go through a lot of effort to tell you information that is for your benefit. That''s the point of including the stamp. They shouldn''t have to pay to tell you since YOU are asking THEM to respond. RSVPing on the internet is also for your benefit and it''s going to be hard to second guess who is going to use which method. I say stay with the tradition although if you want to give them the option you could include an email address. But you still should include a stamp so it won''t doesn''t save you any money.

I would include the stamp for their convenience, just because that is the polite thing to do. I like the idea of including the stamp in the envelope but not sticking it to the RSVP, since obviously you can''t really anticipate who is going to RSVP by which method. I think that your guests will appreciate the gesture, and the extra stamp if they don''t use it to send the RSVP. Who knows, maybe getting to keep the extra stamp if the RSVP online will motivate people to do it.
