What did you guys do with all your wedding related souvenirs like wedding gift cards, left over invitations, programs, thank you cards etc....

I started a scrap book but it''s a bit cheesy.. Wondering if you ladies have any original ideas regarding what to do with all this left over stuff... Or if you had any clever ideas...

Thanks!

No clever ideas here, ILTW! I''m all about the cheese - lol! I also started a scrap book. I''m curious to read what others have done.

My stuff is all in a box waiting to be scrapbooked

I haven''t really kept much. I let my guests take whatever decorations they wanted. The fans that I had used for table numbers were given to the nieces and nephews to paint and play with.

The only things I kept where some extra invitations and programs. I thought I''d glue one to the inside of the coffee books I make from the wedding photos. I''m making a few to give to our parents.

Haha, I left my wedding dress at my MIL''s house..whoops.

I had a beautiful card box at the reception made of raw silk and in my wedding colours. That box is now filled with all our wedding memories. It would be so awesome to go through the box on our wedding anniversary!

The ring bearer kept his pillow. Lots of the other wedding garb was borrowed, so it went back with its owners.

I'm keeping a couple of copies of the invitations, wedding menu, programs, etc.

Best of all, i gave all of the wedding magazines to a friend who is engaged and in the beginning planning stages! It felt like such a weight lifted to hand those over where they have been cluttering every corner of space for the past year!

We framed an invitation with the engraving plate and hung that up in our foyer.

We had a guest book that had removable pages, each guest filled one out... I ordered a bunch of blank pages which I put some RSVP cards (the ones that had little notes written on them) on. Didn''t have programs, sent the thank you cards (?), and put one closed (pocketfold) and one open invitation in the beginning. I love it

A lot of things about weddings are cheesy. It''s one of the few times in our lives we can be excused for being big balls of cheese. Go withit.

Oh gosh, I really wish I hadn''t ever bought a single wedding magazine!! They really were of no use to me at ALL. Just wedding ''****.''

I offered my stack to my now-SIL when she and my brother first got engaged, and she never responded. Guess that was a no.

Haven, do you have a picture of that? I got the engraving plate from my shower invite, and I''m not quite sure what to do with it! Thanks!

Gosh, I was horrible right after we got married. I couldn''t part with anything. I''m getting a little better now. I recently goodwilled my rehearsal dress, and I''m about ready to give up on my wedding reception flip flops as they''ve been turning a little yellowy instead of white.

Cards - I still have, oddly enough. They''re in the basement. Luckily, the basement is our next reno overhaul project, so they''ll probably get recycled at some point.

Planning Binder - Still have on a basement bookshelf. A friend wants to borrow it for a wedding in the same location, so I recently went through and took out stuff I didn''t want shared (receipts from rings, stuff like that).

Books - Those are currently in Iraq. I''ve been rotating them around all my friends who are getting married over the next year.

Extra invations - for awhile, I actually used some of the extra envelopes - especially ones we''d accidentally pre-stamped too many of. But, the rest were finally recycled and then the actual invite, since it was on a teal paper, went into my scrapbook bin for extra paper/cardstock. I also put my inspiration book (which was really a small scrapbook) in with my scrapbooking materials. Someday I might pull it apart and re-use the book...or not.

Then there''s everything else. I have a flat, square shaped vera wang box that I keep all my wedding trinkets in. In there are all sorts of odds and ends - a couple programs, menu cards, all of the RSVP cards, our favors (bookmarks), a couple of bells we handed out to the guests instead of rice, the color swatches from the bm dresses, a bit of ribbon from the bouquet, a couple extra photos that I never framed, a few of the glass pebbles that were on the tables, my garter, our original wedding vows, the comb for my veil- and I''m sure there''s other stuff in there, too. Anyway, that box is in my cedar chest, next to the shoes I wore that my BMs signed. Sometimes when I''m feeling nostalgic, I open up the box and it makes me feel weddingy again.

wow sounds beautiful! where did you get that from? do you have a pic you can post?

I'm selling it.

Duh maybe I should read the entire post before responding!

I'll probably put mine away somewhere. I'm not really a scrapbook-type person.
