No remakes. If the originals were good or classic, you can''t improve on that.

If the originals were lousy films, who wants to see them again?

I agree Holly. I personally don''t like to see remakes of movies. I love the classics.

Ok, we''ll leave Grease alone. How about Grease 2. That one really sucked- it could use a remake

Thought of one while I was watching the derby - I LOVED National Velvet when I was little. Though it would need quite a bit of tweaking to be updated, it's such a beautiful story, and just think what could be done now with the cinematography and stunts!

Hmmm...maybe Woman of the Year or Pillow Talk could make good re-makes, too. Or what about Yours, MIne, and Ours?

ETA: And MAME! I'd love to see Cloris in that one.

I think they did remake Yours, Mine and Ours- with Rene Rousso...but they cannot mess with Pillow Talk!! Or any Doris Day movie for that matter!! (I think they tried with Down With Love and that was AWFUL!)

I still love National Velvet. That could be a great remake....but, I think they''d cast the Fanning girl and it wouldn''t feel the same...

btw-Linda, thanks for getting out your granny bat. I was already getting the cold sweats over the Grease remake.

You can do whatever you want to Grease 2, though. What a waste!

I''d personally love a good remake of Singin'' in the Rain. Though more a re-imagining of the film than a remake... I''d rather see it modernized, including new arrangements for the music and a modern setting.

I''m generally more excited/concerned about musical adaptations. I literally cannot wait for Aida, but if the rumors about Beyonce starring are true, I am going to be very disappointed.

Didn''t MTV productions do a rock-opera version of Aida with Beyonce in the lead several years ago?

Hey, we have the old one, it''s brilliant, and nothing will ever replace it - so why not pay homage to the timelessness of the story by showing how it would still be relevant in modern day?

Rock opera version? Totally separate from the opera and the musical?

Not to my knowledge... it isn''t listed on her imdb page and I can''t find any mention of it in google

There have been rumors of her starring in the feature film version (of the disney umbrella musical, not the opera) floating around for at least two years, but I haven''t seen/heard anything concrete yet, personally.
