I am so torn here between using the classics (which I love!) and coming up with something original. I was talking about this with my future MIL and she goes, oh don''t be boring and do Pachebel like everyone else. I was like - there is a reason people use these songs. They know how long to walk to them!! I mean, seriously - if I walk to Radiohead I''m going to be thinking "when do I stop? when do I stop?" the whole trip down the aisle! Not a stress I want to have . . .

So, I was wondering . . . what are your attendants walking to, what are you walking to, and what is your recessional?

Okay, I think I screwed this up. I had to give choices right? I am so bad at this.

When we were planning on a beach wedding we were thinking of using "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (ukelele version) for the processional. Now that we''re changed our plans, we''re not sure if that song suits our venue.

Fi just mentioned this weekend that he wants the recessional to be "Stray Cat Strut"...not so sure about that one...

Well, we''re doing a modern song for the processional (just one, it''s long enough to cover all of us, small wedding party) and I went through a few to find one that felt both meaningful and comfortable tempo-wise for walking.

Our recessional is also more modern, and I didn''t worry about tempo for this one because I don''t think anyone will be paying attention! It would work though, a bit more upbeat than the processional.

we''re using something modern for the processional (hymn by jars of clay) and then classical for the recessional (ode to joy)

Gah this is the thing that''s stressing me out the most right now. We''re not really doing a formal processional. I mean, I''ll walk with my dad and I guess that''s a processional. But ... we only have 24 people, no bms or gms -- just my sister and his father.

I don''t want silence but I don''t want someone from our v. small group to have to man the ipod. I''m considering letting Mendelssohn''s "Midsummer Night''s Dream" play quietly throughout the entire (short) thing. As a sort of background, fairy-music, I guess.

As usual, I can''t answer a simple question very simply.

I don't want any classic wedding tunes for my ceremony. My plan is to hire a guitarist to play during the ceremony (but I have yet to figure out where the heck I am going to find a guitarist).

I know I want to walk down the isle to the tune of "Have you ever really loved a woman" (Bryan Adams). I still have to figure out what will play before that. Maybe "Home" by Michael Buble or something like that. And recessional? Haven't gotten there yet!

We haven't confirmed anything yet 'cause our wedding is still 8 months away, but we're thinking of an intrumental version of Bittersweet Symphony for the processional. We also like All You Need is Love for the recessional (like the wedding scene from Love Actually. I love that movie!)

I love Bittersweet Symphony, and it''s on our string duo''s repertoire so we actually talked about using it. At the end of the day I couldn''t get past the lyrics though! We''re having a prereception before the ceremony out on the lawn in front of the chapel so we''ll have Bittersweet Symphony played there.

I''m thinking of using Hallelujah from Handel''s Messiah for our recessional. I''m trying to find ways to incorporate my mother into the ceremony (she''s deceased) and she sang in a Handel''s Messiah choral society at Christmas every year. And we''re getting married around Christmas. And it''s kinda funny from the perspective of, hallelujah, we''re finally married.
