I think (not sure) I need two pieces. One for everyone (parents and grandparents and MOH) and one for me. If I''m wrong please set me straight. I have found nothing that has made me think "A HAH!"

What are you doing for your processional and your family/BM processional in terms of music. And if its recorded... which recording (by who, from what album and a link maybe?).

My future uncle is singing Ave Maria as a prelude, and then the processional is to Cannon in D (we are all walking to this, as our Priest makes everyone stand as he, the groom and everyone else walks in, but there will be a cressendo as I walk in).

Gypsy, I don''t know if this helps you, but we''re having a classical guitarist. These will all be played live, but you could use recordings:

Ceremony Prelude (last song before we start)- Capricho Arabe - Tarrega
Parents and Grandparents seated - Andante Cantabile - Molino
Bridal Party - Bianca Fore - Unknown
Bridal March - Romanze - Paganini
Exit March - Luna de Mier - Jones (This one was written by our guitarist and he hasn''t posted a recording yet

hi gypsy!

we're using Jars of Clay "This Road" for the parents/bridesmaid processional. my cousin's bf is going to record a special version of it (without lyrics) for us, because we were having serious trouble finding something that flowed well with my processional song (and it's totally wedding appropriate, i wish we could use the whole thing somehow).

which is jars of clay "hymn". it will be the original recorded version with lyrics.

probably doesn't help you much, but good luck in your search!

eta: the videos are just random - they were the only links i could find that had the songs!

I think that that''s traditionally right... some people also split it up for every different section of people.

We''re having only one song, because it''s the only one that makes me go "Oooooh" and our bridal party is so small that it won''t take very long. Our processional song is ''The Luckiest'' by Ben Folds, played by our solo classical guitarist.

all to be played live by an acoustic guitarist:

the guys procession (groom, groomsmen, chuppah holders, officient) = "over the hills and far away" - led zeppelin (just the beginning, the pretty guitar part)

the girls (bridesmaids) = "love" - john lenon

me = "edelweiss" - the sound of music

Hi! For our processional, we used "Glasgow Love Theme" by Craig Armstrong from the Love, Actually OST. It''s a gorgeous piano piece and is a really sweet sounding song.

You can click here to listen to a sample of the song. It''s listed as #14 on the page.

We had the original version of "Yesterday" by The Beatles for the party processional, that led directly into "Here, There, and Everywhere" again, by The Beatles.

I had little to not choice in the matter, though. My Mom and wedding party walked down the aisle to the same 2 songs, and seeing as how she had 5 sisters, they''ve all walked down the aisle to the song, as well.

I loved being able to continue that tradition started by my Mom!

Oh, Dear God. Is he going to sing the lyrics, too?

That''s my absolute favourite Ben Folds song, and I always get weepy just thinking of the lyrics. I can''t imagine walking down the aisle without falling to pieces, but I cry at everything.

Very good song choice, Musey!

Also, as an aside, on our first anniversary, my husband chose to speed up and put our entire wedding to the Benny Hill theme song. Makes me laugh every time!

This is our processional: Jesu, Joy of Man''s Desiring

Not that you asked, but this will be the recessional: Ode to Joy

Quick question, if I may...

we don''t have separate music for my sister and I to walk down the aisle to. She''s my MOH, and other than the best man, there''s no one else in our bridal party. Should we have separate music? The aisle isn''t that long -- a brick pathway leading to the gazebo.

We''re having a harpist and a flute player. Question: Did anyone mix up classical with standards? I was thinking of doing classical on the way in and ''La Vie En Rose'' on the way out because I just love that song. I was also thinking of doing something non-classical possibly for the actual processional but classical for stuff around it.

And no one is doing ''Here comes the bride''? Everyone hate that song at this point?

Gypsy, If you have itunes you should do a search for wedding music. I found it super helpful to listen to samples. Just type in ''Wedding Music'' you''ll get most of the ones mentioned above (classical) and some standards too! I''ve been poring over them for days at this point. I''m still feeling stuck.

The bridal party walked in to "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee" by Manz. Picked that because it is upbeat. (My Church limited us to classical music.)
I walked in to "Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell played on a gigantic organ and by a trumpeter. Yes, a common song but I must say I really felt like a princess.

Zoe, if your wedding party is small I would pick one song and then have them crescendo when you walk in.

I don''t even know what processional means.

God I am so naive to the whole wedding process.

Thanks Winston! I like that idea.

For everyone else I had Variations on Pachelbel''s by George Winston. http://music.yeucahat.com/song/No-caption/2689-Pachelbel-Canon~George-Winston.html There is also another fantastic version by George Winston that is from the korean movie called "My Sassy Girl". I couldn''t get that version in time so I just went with the "regular" variations the DJ already had. I love them both.

And for myself I had the same as Zoe''s Jesu, Joy of Man''s Desiring love this song. it''s just really elegant and happy sounding at the same time. I really wanted something that sounded happy.

I love classical (duh. CELLOsosweet haha), but I didn''t want anything string-related because I''m super critical and I didn''t want to be thinking about how they are sharp and aren''t decrescendo-ing at the right point as I walked down the aisle. Haha. So, I chose piano pieces and I loved them. All Chopin all the time for the ceremony.

For seating:

Chopin- Andante Spianato in G Major
http://youtube.com/watch?v=0tk4HPtmtjE

Chopin- Nocture #13 in C Minor, Opus 48, #1
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NRuD1L9FPZA

For the processional (parents, bridal party, etc):
Chopin- Nocturne #20 in C Sharp Minor

http://youtube.com/watch?v=REPwoI079Y8
I walked down to:
Chopin- Mazurka Opus 67, #4 in A Minor ( I LOVE THIS SONG LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It''s the first song played on the video. It''s kind of somber, but I liked the key. I tend to go for minors and if you can find a minor that sounds more beautiful than somber, it''s gorgeous. Which I think this piece is)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=pmF7KOkz8b8

We walked back up the aisle to:
Chopin- Waltz Opus 64, No.2 in C# minor
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vHHGKlrj-B4

Err, crap...

Thanks for starting this thread...I haven''t even thought off this! lol

Aww, my parents used that in their wedding too. Lovely choice!

I LOVE Craig Armstrong''s music. Check out the Romeo & Juliet Balcony Scene Music by him as well. Very romantic. Just youtube it and many samples will pop up. I''m sure you could order the sheet music online somewhere.

Thanks Lauren! Our guitarist is a she, and she won''t be singing the lyrics. We thought about having one of our friends do that (we''re both singers and many of our friends are as well), but decided it might be too distracting. I like the subtlety of it without lyrics, and that only those who already know the song will recognize and understand its meaning.

We were between this and another song for our first dance, so when we chose the other song we decided it would be good for a processional. It''s a good tempo for that, too!

Love that song! I bought the soundtrack practically just for that piece. Funnily enough, we considered using it for our wine ceremony. It''s great for any part of a ceremony, in my opinion!

Just wanted to pipe in & thank all of you for the great suggestions!
We haven''t chosen our music yet (except the 1st dance)....so it is awesome to have some nice choices on one thread
