UGH! I am having a major shoe dilemma and I need to get my dress hemmed soon!

Okay so long story short.... I wanted to wear pale pink shoes with my wedding dress. I had trouble finding shoes in a light shade of pink, so I opted to get a dyeable pair and dye them light pink. I was really stupid though and ordered shoes without trying them on. The bridal salon dyed them without letting me try them on first (even though they said they wouldn''t).

The shoes I have are wearable, but not really comfortable. My toes are squished so much that they turn a pinkish color.

So I have decided to try and find a better shoe. Here''s what I found:

I think these shoes are really cute. They aren''t the light pink that I wanted, but coral is close enough right?

Oh and one other question... They are 5 inch heels. Is it not a good idea to wear super high heels? I don''t really need to worry about comfort because we are just eloping so its mostly all about the pictures. Is it weird that I am 5''4 and will look 5''9 in our pictures? I''m a little worried that it will look "inaccurate" since FI is 6'' and is usually so much taller than me, but we''ll be closer in height in pictures? Has anyone else had this dilemma, what did you decide and why?

If you could find something not so tall, I''d try...being boosted up that high your whole day might be painful, even if you''re used to being in high shoes, I think the added pressure (no pun intended) of the day can add extra foot stress...I wish I could send you mine to wear for the day...they''re 3" pale pink patent

hey here''s my dress:
Are these shoes too chunky for my simple, sheer dress?

I''m also with you on the thought that you might want a more "delicate" shoe for your dress...it''s so soft and pretty, you wouldn''t want to overwhelm it or take away from it with a too-chunky shoe...I guess I''m not helping, am I?

I kinda like them!

BUT... since one of things that was really important to you was your pics and since I know you are in SF... those would not be my choice for stomping about SF in and taking photos. On the other hand, your wedding isn''t going to be HOURS long, so they could work. If you love them... AND they are comfortable why not?

Ha ha no I think you are right....

Strappy sandals would probably work best with my empire style dress. But I have really fat feet and peep-toes look much cuter on me...... Hmmm... not really sure what to do.....

Gypsy do you think they are too chunky? I not sure if they match my look although I love them!

I can walk pretty well in heels... even on SF hills. Plus our ceremony and pictures will total 2 hours. I can make it that long in any shoes. For dinner I''m sure I''ll change to flip-flops!

Mia you have such a fun lively personality and well... I think the shoes have a lot of personality and I like that! They have a lot of contrasting elements-- they are chunky but still feminine with the pink and that twist... I don't know, they appeal to me. I honestly don't know if they would work with your gown, but I don't see the harm in ordering since zappos has such easy returns. I say give them a shot and see what you think.

It looks like they have a pretty big platform, so they might not be all that uncomfortable...can you tell I like them too!

oh all the reviews say they are really comfortable too! I love them... I guess I need to order them and see....

I love the shoes. I think they will still be comfortable because they have the platform. Without that platform I would be thinking "Ouch"!

Your dress looks more beautiful on you every time I see it!

Awww thanks Miracles! I''m at peace with my dress now too. I used to think it wasn''t flattering, but I''ve touched down with reality and it looks fine.

I''m going to order them now.

I think they''re great. I say go for it!

Well I think you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress, greek-goddess look! I love the shoes, but I have to be honest, I don''t know if I love the shoes with the dress. I find the shoes look sexy, girl-out-on-the-town, and the dress is romantic-wedding-on-the-beach look.

Good luck on your decision!

UPDATE: Just got the shoes.... They are total stripper shoes! They are adorable and sexy at the same time but incredibly inappropriate for my dress. I''d totally wear them with a ball gown-type dress, but they don''t work with mine

So I am going to try these instead: I think they will match the style better. I''m sure my toes will look chubby but they match the style and they are pink!

Yeah, I was going to say that I didn't think the first pair really matched the style of your dress- which is soft and flowy -while those shoes are bright and clunky (they're still nice shoes, though, just not so much with your dress). I MUCH prefer the second pair! Plus they'll be more comfortable.

I like the new ones better, for the dress you''re wearing...let us know how it goes.

Boo...sorry they looked so bad when you got them.

I love, love, love the new shoes. My only concern is how high they are with no platform at all to ease the arch. I would suggest some gel sole pads to help ease any pain, but if they squish your toes, that may make it worse.

We''ll just have to wait until you get them and walk around in the house for awhile.

Yep miracles, that is my concern too... The first shoes were VEEERRY comfy. I mean ridiculously so! Because although they were really high, the platform really helped. Plus, standing next to FI, I was still a lot shorter so I felt we looked right together. The new shoes are 4" heels with only a 1/2" platform so they might be more uncomfortable, plus they have a thin heel. We''ll see. I ordered them overnight so I should have them tomorrow.

I''m still debating on keeping the first pair (not for the wedding) because they were cute, comfy and I feel really hot in them. But I don''t usually have events where I would actually get some use out of them. Oh, did I mention FI wants me to keep them?

Wish me luck. If none of these work out I have the original dyeables and a strappy sandal that I''ve had for a while that would work. I just need to decide soon so I can get my dress hemmed!

I love them. Those are my kind of dancing shoes

But after an hour in those girls, my feet would be on fire.

Booo!

The second pair were not what I expected at all! The whole bottom of the shoe is like a shiny copper-colored chrome. I can see my reflection in them. Too bad they fit and were comfy. But they are definitely more copper and less pink than they look in the picture!

Okay, last ditch effort.... I''m going to the mall tomorrow and hopefully I''ll find something! If not, I still need to get my dress hemmed so I will do it in the shoes I already have and maybe I''ll still be able to find something in a similar height!

So keep them for the honeymoon!

Best of luck with your shoe hunt though, let us know what you find!

I guess I stumbled upon this thread a little late, but I think those shoes are FABULOUS. You absolutely must keep them, especially for the honeymoon if FH likes them! Five-inch heels are definitely not too much--I will be looking for the same when the time comes because I''m tiny and FH is quite tall. I will have to keep these in mind since they meet my height requirement and aren''t clear stripper heels =).
