I''m rubbish at eating breakfst - but then agian I''m generally rubbish in the mornings full stop. I''m naughty and don''t eat brekkie - I much prefer the extra 10 mins in bed, but it does mean I''m starving by about 10am and there are LOADS of sweets and choccies in the office and on the wards so I just tend to graze on those

. This could go someway to explaining why my bottom deosn''t appear to getting any smaller

well along with my pot of coffee I drink...I usually have oatmeal...raisins, nuts and oats is my fav...or a granola bar or whole wheat toast with a little PB on it. Anything whole wheat with nuts really. I try to get my whole wheat grains in , in the morning for breakfast. Otherwise I won''t get them in.

I recently discovered a great pancake mix at my local grocery store the other day. It has flax seed, soy and whole wheat. Very grainy and does not make for the prettiest pancakes. But very good..I usually microwave some frozen strawberries and blueberries to pour over the top of them. Yum....I can eat those for breakfast or any meal and usually do.

If i had my choice and my body did not care...I would eat cheese smothered omelette''s with everything stuffed inside. Ham, onions, tomatoes, celery , mushrooms and of coarse hash browns.

Oops, posted in wrong thread. But now I'm hungry!

I am addicted to Promax protein bars so I eat one of those with a ice cold water. I don''t like coffee.

It depends on my teaching schedule. I cannot stomach any food before 8 AM so if I''m teaching during the first period of the schoolday I just don''t get to eat breakfast at all. (School starts at 7:45, have to be there by 7, so there is no way I can eat before I get to work.)

Now that I have the luxury of having a prep period during first hour I eat a variety of things, and allways in my office. My normal breakfast is a Luna Bar, but I''ll have an English muffin or a half a bagel or egg whites if I tire of the bar, which happens often. I''ll also have a cup of tea if I''m feeling a bit sleepy, which also happens quite a lot!

I love breakfast, though; I''d eat breakfast three times a day if I could! YUM!

I have to have coffee or I cannot wake up. I also like English breakfast tea.

I use splenda in it.

I have steel cut oats with blueberries, or an egg white omelette with veggies in it, and wheat or rye toast.

If I am being bad on vacation I have eggs benedict.

I can''t function without breakfast. I wake up hungry every day!

That said, I also don''t like to wake up on time to cook and eat a full breakfast. I usually make something to take with me. Normally some variation of whole wheat toast/bagel/english muffin with peanut butter or lowfat cheese. And I always make a thermos full of green tea. If my day isn''t too busy, I try to drink a second thermos full during the morning.

Breakfast is particularly important to me because my job often doesn''t afford me time to eat lunch!

I need to eat breakfast as it really affects my energy levels and mood if I don''t have it.

I normally have either some kind of grainy toast with natural peanut butter and no added sugar jam, or a high fibre cereal (like all bran flakes mixed with regular all bran) with skim milk.

Then usually a banana for a mid-morning snack.

Oh and coffee of course!

Usually I eat some sort of cereal with skim milk or oatmeal with fruit. Lately it''s been either corn or rice Chex with a banana OR low sugar apples and cinnamon oatmeal (or Kashi oatmeal). In the summer, I tend to become addicted to Special K with fresh blueberries. I tend to get stuck in ruts, where I''ll eat the same thing for weeks or months on end.

I find it interesting how everyone is so regimented in what they eat for breakfast! We would not eat the exact same thing for lunch or supper day after day, but why breakfast??? Off to have my instant oatmeal.

Zoe, I am a creature of habit in the morning too. I am tired and unless it is Sunday brunch and I have slept in and or am on vacation, I honestly like to just eat and get going.

I meet friends for breakfast sometimes and we all get the same omelette!

also, I tend to be a creature of habit with lunch too, salads all the time, rarely hot food. Hot food I often have at dinner, but I could do a salad for that too!

HI:

This morning it will be Capt''n Crunch--oh, mixed with a few cheerios. CC is one of the few diet downfalls I have, I just love it.

cheers--Sharon

Occasionally I''ll stop by the bagel place on the way to work and grab a bagel and a hot chocolate or a coffee. It''s so tempting to do because I drive by this place every day and their food is really good. I try to be good during the week though because my FI and I love to go out for breakfast or brunch one day during the weekend. We''ve been pretty good about that over the last month or so and I miss it. I''m craving eggs benedict now!

On weekends, eggs, waffles, or cereal.

On weekdays, I used to not eat breakfast very often. But now that I'm eating for two, I have yogurt, fruit, toast with butter, toast with cheese, or cheese and crackers. I need something quick because I'm always rushing out of the house.

Mondays through to Thursday I have vegemite on white toast, always with a cafe latte. It''s the only time I have a coffee, once a day, in the morning and only on a weekday. Fridays are my naughty day and I''ll have a bacon and egg muffin. Don''t have brekky on the weekends. It''s funny, I find that on the weekdays, I am starving in the mornings but I''m not hungry until lunchtime on the weekends.

Great thread!

I pretty much eat the same thing every week day - a cup of coffee & a bowl of steel cut oats with fresh blueberries and walnuts. It''s quick, easy, tastes great and holds me over till lunch.

For the longest time I was eating eggs and sprouted grain bread (toasted) for breakfast, but recently after doing allergy testing, found out I'm allergic to eggs, so since then I've been eating ground turkey made into patties along with a veggie as a breakfast food. It's odd eating that instead of typical comfort food, like oatmeal or cereal, but I guess I'll get use to it since my body seems to require higher amounts of protein than oatmeal, etc., can provide.

I'll have to wait a few more weeks to see if I'm allergic to wheat, so I'm only having toast every few days and am making sprouted grain toast with coconut oil (as butter) with tomatoes and spinach.

Oh, and I drink tea and two glasses of water every morning. Up until last month, I'd drink a Red Bull with breakfast! lol My ND was horrified by that.

I used to not eat breakfast because I am not a morning person and just don''t have enough time to prepare and eat. I started eating breakfast after I found out I was pregnant. Now it''s either cereal with non-fat organic milk, toasts with peanut butter, bagel with cream cheese, scrambled egg bagel sandwich, or oatmeal.

I have to be at work at 8:00am, so I usually eat what I can keep in my desk drawer. Usually, I''ll have a Nutz Over Chocolate Luna bar, or some mixed nuts (my favorite is the pecan, pistachio and cashew mix).

nothing but pepsi, cant even stand the smell of food in the morning.
I eat one meal a day between 3pm and 11pm.
3Pm if im working, up too 11pm if im not.

Reminds me I should go eat supper its almost 10pm

I too am not a morning person per se and when I say breakfast sometimes it is a noon. The smell of food, with my headaches and smell sensitivity issues, is tough. So if I am not feeling hungry I wait it out. Then I just each meal of the day at a later time than normal, lunch at 3 or 4, dinner at 9 or so. I stay up late so it is not a biggie.

Always Marmite on wholegrain toast. You either love it or hate it ( love it!)

. I eat it just about every morning on toast or rice cakes, with tea and a bowl of berries or some citrus fruits

I am super strange with breakfast. DH and I started jucing about a year and a half ago and since then my breakfast has been a big glass of "green lemonade" which is the juice of:
-a head of romaine lettuce
-few stalks of celery
-handful of broccoli
-big bunch of kale
-an apple
-lemon
-chuck of ginger

I must admit, i don''t luv it, i would still rather a bowl of cereal or something, but i don''t eat any dairy so this is a great way to get calcium (the best source of it!) and it really makes me feel energized and helps my digestion.

I have a blueberry smoothie every morning and I love that its quick easy and filling. Low fat milk handful of blue berries 2 tblsp flaxseed meal and 2 scoops of protein powder and ice . Whizz it in the magic bullet and it 's done. Helathy full of proten and you get the fibre from the flaxseed + Omega 3's
