I was born with great big blue eyes and they changed to green later on. They are still big green with dark blue circles around the outside edge. There are brown areas around the pupil, but green is the primary color.

Mom had totally green eyes and Dad has totally blue eyes. The brown comes from my Memaw (Dad''s mother.)

I used to get lots of compliments on my eyes and people were always asking if that was my natural eye color. Now, I''m a Type 2 insulin dependent diabetic and my poor eyes are suffering from it.

They are still my best feature and I love them.

My eyes are a greenish/blue color, with orange irises... I LOVE my eyes, but unfortunately, they will not be passed on to my children. Hubby''s eyes are DARK brown.

Here''s a pic of my peeper!

Pretty eyes Tuckins! I love the color - it''s so unique.

FYI, even though your hubby''s eyes are brown, you still may have blue/green eyed children. Brown is the dominant eye coloring for sure, but many brown eyed people carry the blue eyed gene - they either have this: BB (brown, brown) gene, or this: Bb (Brown, Blue) gene. It all depends on which chromisome is given from him when you conceive...could be either. I *think* the green/hazel gene is actually a mutation of one or the other.

All of his siblings, and both of his parents have brown eyes, so i'm not hopeful.... But I am still holding onto that one in four chance of having a non- brown eyed baby! (Please don't get me wrong. My husband's eyes are the most beautiful color of dark brown. I have nothing against brown eyes. It's just that both my parents and myself have this color eyes, and it would be nice to pass them on.

Mine are a pure medium green, slightly darker at the edges. Hubby''s are light blue - can''t wait to see the eye colors our kids get someday.

These eye photos are fun! I''ll play!

Mine are hazel. Partially green, partially brown. One eye has a big splotch of brown in it the other doesn''t.

hera-that eye color predictor thing is awesome!

I have brown eyes and according to that predictor, even though my husband has (gorgeous) blue eyes, both of his parents have blue eyes, and my dad and sister have green eyes, my future children still have a 50% chance of having brown eyes and only a 20% chance of having blue eyes! (Green was 30%.) So interesting how dominant brown eyes are!

I have what I like to refer to as poop colour brown eyes (see below) FI calls them pools of chocolate :P he on the other hand has these beautiful blue clear lagoon coloured eyes :)

My eyes also tend to turn this evil scary shade of yellow when I cry

I just love this thread! Probably because I just LOVE eyes... I think all eyes are beautiful!

Does anyone have true AMBER eyes? I met this guy in Mexico years ago whose eyes were the coolest, most gorgeous shade of AMBER. Not green, not brown, not "muddy" at all... just a true, clear, warm, golden yellow topaz color.
30.gif

I then became friends years later with a girl who had the exact same color of eyes. She has since moved away and I miss looking at her!

Those two people are the only two people I have ever noticed having that color of eyes. ***BEAUTIFUL!***

brown... and I love em

I picked brown, but they have green in them as well...maybe I should have chose hazel?

Hi Lynn - I don't have a very good picture of it - this is the best one I could find - but my eyes look Amber in many lights - they are actually somewhere between Amber and Hazel, because there is some green in there as well, but especially in bright lights, the Amber color really comes through. I will try to find a better pic, but not sure if one exists...

Really cool calculator! Apparently I have a 1 in 6 chance of having a non- brown eyed baby!!

This calculator is interesting, but not at all accurate unfortunately. It assumes that the allele (gene) frequency of eye colors is equal, which it is not.

I just tried it, it only allowed for pure eye colors. I had no idea if I should put brown or green for mine.

That is a beautiful picture, AG... thanks for sharing! But in it (at least on my monitor), your beautiful eyes look like a lovely brown shade. I would LOVE to see the amber color you mention. Oh how gorgeous that must be!!!

Here''s mine!

Excuse the redness... I blame it on too much studying.

I will see what I can do Ms Lynn - I actually detest having my photo taken as a rule, but will try to steal some time and see if I can get at least one shot capturing the actual color

Oh, and I meant to say in my first post but forgot - your eyes are the most breathtaking shade of green - I can see why you like them, they are an absolutely lovely color - that''s the color eyes I always wished I had

Mine are moss green, with some golden brown around the middle. Most people would say they're hazel, but I'm claiming green!
I would say that that entire statement applies to me, too.
Deelight made a statement above that made me take notice :-). She said that when she cried her eyes became yellow*. When I cry my eyes become emerald green, a color I wish I had all the time! They are simply amazing! Why couldn't they look like that all the time?

My eyes also seem to change color if I have been crying- they seem to be a bit more green. They also take on different hues depending on what I wear. I love my eyes... they''re kind of like "chameleon" eyes.

My are brown. Just regular dark brown, but they can be sparkly and nice in the right lighting
21.gif
Eyes are my favorite feature on other people, and I LOVE eye compliments, which I only rarely get, but I relish them! Mine will sometimes change colors a bit in the summer (get a few shades lighter), which is usually when I get compliments. I wish I knew how to make them change!

Do we have no one here with eyes that are each a different color? I *love* that, especially when one is brown and one is blue!

AGBF- You said your eyes are hazel, correct? I suspect the contrast of the red against the hazel makes them more green. My eyes are green and they are also fabulous after crying

I finally found a decent shot of my green eyes... harder than finding a good diamond shot

Very odd to post a photo of my eyeballs, but here they are!

Mine are basically blue, but they change color sometimes. They can be blue, grey, greenish or purplish. Very weird!
