I''ve read Into the Out Of and To the Vanishing Point by Alan Dean Foster several times and would love to see them on screen. Piers Anthony''s Adept series are some others.

What would you pick?

I''m not sure if it was or is supposed to come out in a movie, but I would love to see Alice Sebold''s "Lovely Bones"
(don''t know if I spelt her name right...)

Stephen King''s and Peter Straub''s The Talisman. I absolutely love the book. I know it''s really long and probably wouldn''t be able to "movie-ize" effectively. But, I''d like to see them try. I did hear that there may be a mini-series made for TV though.

Kas-I was under the impression as well that Lovely Bones was going to be a movie. Been a long time since I''ve read that one..might need to break it out again for a refresher.

Shiny-I agree about The Talisman! I thought they were doing a 3rd book, or maybe already did? I enjoyed Black House, but not near as much as Talisman.

I''d also like to see the Gunslinger series done, even tho I hated the ending. I *heart* Roland!

I liked Black House too, but not nearly as much as The Talisman. I also heard that there was talk of a 3rd book but I haven''t seen anything about it in a long time.

Water for Elephants... and Stephen King''s The Stand

Watership Down - as a more modern movie

Anything by Koontz

Snowflower and the Secret Fan

100 years of solitude

Love in the time of Cholera

But FIRST AND FOREMOST
Terry Goodkind''s Sword of Truth Books if done right could seriously be epics on the level of LOTR.

Yes, Lovely Bones has already been made, Mark Wahlberg is in it.

I tried to read 100 years of solitude. I was lost the entire time. It was gibberish to me. I don''t know if it is because I was reading it at night and falling asleep and not remembering the last thing I read or maybe it was just over my head. You are not the first person that has commented on that book and I am always confused. Perhaps you could explain it to me? Please?

The book that I would like to see made into a movie is a book called Go Ask Alice. I don''t know who the author is, but the book was so good and I think it would be good to show to teenagers. It is about this girl that starts her teens on the right path and then friends and such turn her onto drugs. She talks about what it was like and the scary experiences. At one point in the book she is hospitalized because she had a bad trip and locked herself in the closet and tried to get out and wore the tips of her fingers off. It is brutal. The book really impacted me and I feel that all teenagers thinking of experimenting with drugs should read it and possibly see it.

Radiant, I swear I''ve read Go Ask Alice. It sounds so familiar, so I googled it, but that didn''t help much-I read it when I was in 10th grade, like 17 years ago. I read it for a Novels class and loved it...if it''s the book I''m thinking of. I wish I''d kept my journal we had to do for the class. Does it start off like Moby Dick''s first line, Call me Ishmael? Argh..now this is seriously going to drive me bonkers until I figure out if that was the book. Wikipedia said it was made into a movie of the week back in ''73!

Eye of the World----from Robert Jordan''s Wheel of Time Series

I would love to see the other books

from that series come to film as well.

Hmmm, really? Not sure how I feel about that. Who does he play?

I loved this book.

eta: oh, he plays Jack...hmmmm, gotta think about that one.

Lynnie - THE STAND is already a movie, well actually a tv mini-series

I've read Go Ask Alice when I was a teen.

I'd like to see Stephen King's THE EYES OF THE DRAGON made into a movie. it's a children's book, and I love the way the master of horror is also a master of fairytales.

I also love King's DARK TOWER series. but that would make a really long mini-series.

I thought of one. Watership Down... comp animation style.

Also
I''d love a modern Wuthering Heights

And I think they should make the story of Justin Morgan Had a Horse into a movie....

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

The Diary of Anne Frank

And they have GOT to make a movie about Secretariat.....seriously... how has this not been done yet????

"Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho

The Eight by Katherine Neville and The Russian Concubine by Kate Furnivall
