Aw, I love all of the animal pictures!

We just got our first kitty last night, he''s amazing! I think we''ve decided on the name Salvatore. We originally considered Our Love, but that got old pretty fast, BF wanted to name him Omar or McNulty(from The Wire.) So Salvatore is not so bad, haha!
When we get a dog, we plan on naming it DELICIOUS! That name has to be kind of yelled out though (like how Larry David does in Curb Your Enthusiasm.)

I'm loving the names and pics. And wishing I had a better camera. Here are a couple of our guy. First one is him trying out our new area rug. Hollis MUST lay on a rug the SECOND you put it down.

And lounging on the couch - his favorite place in the house.

Our first cat''s name was Georgette (my then 8-year old son''s idea).
Now we have a cat whose name is Josephine. She is a purebred, and we were trying to "concoct" a name from her parents'' names but nothing would come out of it. Her father''s name is Bonaparte. My husband asked, "Did Napoleon have children?", to which I said, "yes, all boys". So we decided to name our cat after Napoleon''s first wife.

My beloved cat''s name is Lucifer! She''s black and she''s got the most amazing yello-green eyes! I''ll try to post a pic soon! I love her!

We have two gray tabby girl kitties: Kiki and Cassie.

Here's my little princess Kiki. She is so sweet and affectionate, loves to rub her head against mine:

My precious kitty is named Pearls. Man oh man does she fit her name perfectly. I always say that if she could actually talk she would sound just like Karen from Will and Grace.

Kenny, I work with a woman who also has a 'chihuatzu' (which is what it was called when she bought it). They are SO cute!

O Demon, if there is any way you could post a pic of that dog we'd LOVE to see it.
We had never heard of the mix, or the term chihuatzu , and frankly to us they were just mutts we fell in love with.
(Sorry Kenny - I tried to reply the other day, but this place seems to time me out if I don't finish in 10 seconds, and I ran out of time)

I'll see if I can get her to post a picture. The dog looks a lot like yours, with the same kind of hair. But they clipped her really short for the summer, and now she looks more like a straight Chihuahua. Like having 2 dogs in one!

Chihuatzu is the name she bought it under at the pet store, and you'd be surprised at what mixed breeds are considered common.....dog breed info.com even lists "Bogles" (Boxer/Beagle mixes) as a 'recognized mixed breed'. Whatever that means, lol.

Thanks Demon.

We're dying to see it.

Kizzy and Yaya look like Shi-Tzu before their haircuts and Chihuahua after.

This is the first thread I''m reading through this morning and it''s making me feel so happy! I wish the mods (''morning guys....wavewave) would make one of our furbaby threads a sticky, so we can look at these pics whenever we need a lift.

Really, they''re all so gorgeous! and I hesitate to mention any by name because they''re all so beautiful.

lori, Coco could have been a star. She''s so pretty and perfect, soulful and distinctive.
Hi GG!

Thank you.....here we are together.....Coco is my reason for getting out of bed on my worst days. I have SLE Lupus and am in pain all of the time. Some days are worse than others and I never know what my day will be like until I wake up.

We have two furbabies. Gaffer (nicknames: Gaffster, Gaffer Pants, Handsome Pants, Mr. Gaffer, Cuddlemuffin) is a brown tabby Scottish Fold and Bianca (nicknames: Miss Bianca, Fatty, Bee, Little Bee) is a white odd-eyed American Shorthair. They are such sweethearts and they love to cuddle both with us and each other.

Here they are doing some snuggly sunbathing.

Maggie was our first cat. my DH got her around the time we were dating. She followed my brother in law hom and my MIL, for all her insanity loves cats and is a cat whisperer. This cat however, who was about 5 months, was a total terror. They named her Demon and begged DH to take as he had no other pets. We call her Maggie, short for Magdalene because she is a wh-re of biblical proportions. No man can come into the house without being assulted with love and she is a feisty little thing. She has a round little face, little ears, a rolly polly body and big green eyes.

Okay, so this whole thing cracked me up. My first name is Magdalen, but I go by Maggi. I was a terror, and my mother called me Demon when I was little. I''m a feisty little thing, and I have a round little face, little ears, a rolly polly body, and big green eyes. DH is laughing his butt off right now over the similarities between me and your cat! Would it be arrogant of me to say she''s absolutely adorable?

Bentley--it''s almost impossible to get a picture of him with his eyes open! He''s such a fat chunk!

Zayleigh. She''s a little cross-eyed, but they''re such a pretty color blue!

n50503544_31252479_7838.jpg

Gyrfalcon. He''s a polydactyl, so he looks like he has on boxing gloves.

n50503544_31252475_6263.jpg

Melvin. I miss that rascal--he was seriously the sweetest animal we''ve ever had!

n50503544_31252467_3305.jpg

And lastly, Minga. She''s definitely the most camera-friendly. She likes to charge you when you go to take a picture of her, so we have quite a few that are about an inch from her face, haha!

This is Maxx-as in the handbags. When we first got him as a puppy he fit in the palm of my hand. He is still about 7 pounds of fire and vigor. I love this dog more than anything.
I don''t know what we would do without him. The only problem is he HAS to sleep with somebody and be touching you all night. He likes to push on you. Not only can I not sleep when
he does that but I am an allergy mess when I wake up. I guess I am going to have to suck it up if the youngest moves out and goes to college.......

My miniature pinscher Eddie!!!! I always thought this pic was so funny b/c it looks like he is sticking out his tongue at me- that would be his personality, though!!!

He is so cute!!

Yay for another min pin!

I''ll contribute with my cats'' names.
I have a pair of Russian Blue sisters called Sapphire and Emerald, for their blue fur and green eyes.
When I got my lilac point Birman, I tried to think of a suitable gemstone name, but no luck, he is named Leo.

Such cute pets about! My fantastic felines are Link (Domestic Short) and Kirby (Domestic Medium). Unlike what seems to be the trend here, I do not like naming my pets after humans. Since I teach, I never want to run the risk of having a student who ruins my pet's name for me. My kitty-guys are named after Nintendo characters, since I am a total Nintendo fanboy (or fangirl, as it were). When I got them, I was obsessed with Super Smash Brothers Melee on Gamecube and my two favorite characters to play were Kirby and Link. I wanted to name them associated names since they were litter mates. They were very yellow when they were kittens, and I originally named them Sun King and Mean Mr. Mustard (Beatles Songs from Abbey Road) but they started to become more and more peach, so I changed them to Link and Kirby. I still want a yellow cat named Mean Mr. Mustard one day.

Link is a.k.a. Linky, Linkers Stinkers and La La La Link. DH calls him LHL for "Left hand Link" since he is always at my side and, very literally, sits to the left of me on an ottoman in my home office whenever I am working. Kirby is a.k.a. Kirbo Turbo, Kerbers, Teebs, and T-bird. Not sure why we came up with any of these particular nicknames for Kirby. Together, I call them KGs (for Kitty Guys) or Beebers (which I came up with when they were born, long before the current pop sensation). Kirby gets a lion cut in the summer, so I attached his normal look and his now look, which is hilarious.

When we started dating, DH had a Seal Point Himalayan named Bill Cosby--who he never ever called Bill or Cosby, only Bill Cosby. Poor Bill Cosby died of complications with a blood clot before we moved in together, but I loved that cat. I guess that is the way I can handle a pet with a person's name--having it named, in full, after a particular person.

Female tabby: Heidi.Because she hides. She''s the one we think is autistic.

Male Lavender Oriental Shorthair: Kenji. Because he is my "second son".

We will be getting one of his siblings from the next litter due in July hopefully to be Chestnut color and therefore named Kuri. If the new kitten turns out to be Lavender we''ll have to rethink the name.

i wish i had a better photo of our 2 adopted kitties together, but this is Miss Demeanor and Felony respectively (they''re siblings). BF''s father is a police officer and we thought it was a fitting name for the duo.

Pink Tower...originally I thought that she was a terrier because she looks like one. Then, for fun I had a DNA test done on her and the results came back as a poodle/coonhound. I really couldn''t believe it at first, but then when I started observing her behavior it made perfect sense. Not only that but when she was younger or when she dries after swimming in the pool, her hair is crazy curly like a poodles. The top of her head is really curly, its cute :) She is very very intelligent but also has the coonhound side of her where her agility is through the roof and she LOVES to chase after birds/squirrels etc. :)

Omarosa (Omie for short) - seal bi-color ragdoll cat (see avatar for pic)
Violet - American pit bull terrier
