What are your pets named?

kenny, I don''t think you post too many pics of your girls at all. In fact I think you should have a Kizzy and Yaya thread. I love those pups and I''d like to apply for the job as their Godmother :-).

My doggie, who doesn''t even actually live with me, but is most responsive to me, because I love him so darn much...his name is Roger. He''s a little poodle and he''s AWESOME! He''s named after Roger Federer. My family is a tennis family and we actually got him the day Federer won the US Open in 2007!

Also, totally unrelated, I have personally told Venus Williams that my dog is named after Roger Federer. She was like, "YOU NAMED YOUR DOG ROGER?!" hahaha!

Their mom was Shi-Tzu.
Their dad was a Chihuahua, a no-good drifter roaming from town to town with a bottle of tequila and a way with the ladies.

Sorry, I know I post too many pics of them, but if you want me to stop you''ll have to kill me.

LOL! Kenny, you''re hilarious! And Kizzy and Yaya are SOOO CUTE! Please post as many pics as you want!

Our kids are:

Red ~ our 19-year-old Thoroughbred gelding
Biko ~ our 14-year-old black lab/pit bull mix
Turbo ~ our 9-year-old black lab/??? mix
Tucker ~ our 1-year-old French Bulldog

Red, Biko and Tucker are all boys . . . Turbo is the only girl.

A boxer - Mocha; a boxer-beagle - Gremlin; an orange tabby - Cyanide; and a cream/orange tabby - Boo.

Kenny, I work with a woman who also has a "chihuatzu" (which is what it was called when she bought it). They are SO cute!

I named my little chihuahua-terrier Darby after the main characted from the movie Darby O''Gill and the Little People because even at 7 months old he had the spirit of a sweet, charming, grumpy little old man.

Here he is as a baby. Sorry I didn''t attach it when I actually said his name.

My little monster is Darth Vader. He is a min pin, so it works.

My lovebird (on the left) is called BB. I love her to death!
30.gif
She''s my baby! I''ve been clicker training her. So far, she can wave, turn around, step up and spin her toy ferris wheel on command. She loves to make kissing sound too.

She used to have a buddy, who looked exactly like her. She died a few years ago.

He also responds to poopster.

O Demon, if there is any way you could post a pic of that dog we'd LOVE to see it.
We had never heard of the mix, or the term chihuatzu , and frankly to us they were just mutts we fell in love with.

Lily is our black pitbull mix
Mason is our Vizsla.

Well, there was this thread.

If you are going to be there Godmother you''ll have to give them lots of tummy rubs.

Let's see. I have two pets atm.

1) A domestic shorthair cat, nealry 9 years old now, named Darwin. His naming story is pretty funny...I adopted him from the local humane society. There, he was called "Silver Tip". All I could think was that that was NOT a name and began thinking. I had a list including Simon, Theordore, Dexter, Freddy, and others I can't remember. None of them seemed 'right' when I brought him home so I thought on it for awhile. It was nearly two weeks before he had his official name. My boyfriend (at the time) and some friends had gone to a concert. A friend of my exbf (who happened to be my older sister's bf at the time) slapped a sticker he got from the concert onto my new baby's litter box. It read: Darwin's Waiting Room. The rest, is history, it was perfect.

2) A miniature schnauzer, nearly 9 months old, name Molly. We adopted her at 6 months old from a breeder who was not going to use her for breeding. She got her with the intentions of using her, but she breeds toy sized schnauzers. Well, Molly was at 12 lbs at 6 months and was not anywhere near toy sized not yet full grown. So we got her for very inexpensively. Her name was Holly. Her AKC name is Holly Wood. Hownever, we both work with Hollys, I have a SIL named Holly, and it just wasn't going to work for us. It seemed that she recognized her name more than half the time, so we went with Molly so we didn't confuse her more than we have to. She took to it no problem, not what we would have picked, but it suits her.

I'll dig up pictures of them both to post.

Previous pets include the family dog, a German Shepherd named Keyco, a shorthair cat named Boo-boo (he had been in a serious feral fight before we adopted him), a himalayan named Cosmo (Mo-Mo for short, to go with Boo-boo). My sister has a chiweiner (chihuahua/dachshund mix) named Haco, and my other sister had a cat named Margo.

RaiKai, I''m on a bunny forum and someone adopted a bunny named Carbun last year. Maybe it was yours! They live in Canada as well.

We decided on our first two dogs'' names in 2002, which was 2 years before we brought home our first and 6 years before we brought home our second!

Our dogs'' names are Byron and Boatswain.

Lord Byron had a newfoundland named Boatswain, about whom he wrote this beautiful epitaph:

Near this spot
Are deposited the Remains
of one
Who possessed Beauty
Without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
And all the Virtues of Man
Without his Vices.
This Praise, which would be unmeaning flattery
If inscribed over Human Ashes,
Is but a just tribute to the Memory of
"Boatswain," a Dog
Who was born at Newfoundland,
May, 1803,
And died at Newstead Abbey
Nov. 18, 1808.

This is exactly how I feel about both of my newfoundlands.

And since we''re posting pictures!

Otto is the black and white one, Hannah is the grey and white one. They''re my little bunny children

Your Darby is adorable and OMG I used to LOVE that movie!!!

I have 4 fur babies, and yes, they are like children to me.

Murphy is a 6 year old Abyssinian kitteh
Binks is a 4 year old domestic short haired kitteh
D.O.G. is a 2 year old black chow chow pup
and Monty is the baby, he''s one and he''s a gray tiger kitteh

Tigian, a Viszla? So jealous!

HH, how do you pronounce D.O.G? Diogi? Or do you call him dog? I was going to respond to that *other* thread but figured I wouldn''t have much "cred" with my user name.

The online world is even smaller than the real world! I know of the forum, and that was my bunny indeed

I have not talked to his new owners in a while, but I had an update a couple months ago or so.

I had to adopt him out due to too much moving over the last year due to work (and uncertainty where I would end up) and it was rather unfair to him to do all that moving (he hated even trips to the vet) and not know how much time I would be able to give him either. I felt incredibly bad about it and guilty as I loved him terribly - he was so much fun (and a pain in the butt too!).

However, when I took him to scope out his potential new home I knew immediately it was perfect, and I left him there that very day. His new bunny-parents are great, and they have lots of bunnies (and cats and dogs!) and Carbun seemed immediately right at home with them. Despite limited exposure to other animals he hopped right over the dog, did not seem bothered by the cats, and was impressing the girl-bunnies. They also seem to have a LOT of patience for the bonding and such that comes along with multiple bunnies!

Our longhaired miniature dachshund is Seamus, he is 4 years old and 11 pounds!

We had to rehome Dreamer last fall
15.gif
A loud house with kids was not the best place for her, something we did not anticipate when we adopted her. We miss her but everyone is better off.

Our 13 year rescue cat was renamed Oscar when he came to us...his original name was Twig.

He''s named after Oscar MADISON { surely SOME of you remember the Odd Couple?}.

Small world!! As soon as you said "Carbun" and "grey netherland dwarf" I knew it had to be the same one. How many can there be? Haha. He''s such a cutie pie and you couldn''t have found better people to take him.

I have three cats, two from when I still lived at home and one that''s all mine. The ones at home are Ambrose and Belinda, but we call Ambrose Bwosie and Belinda Beautiful girl or boo girl. She actually won''t come to Belinda anymore. My kittie''s name is Leonidas or Leo for short.

Yeah, I know. I feel quite comfortable knowing he is with them. He probably likes them more than he did me anyway....ha. He probably just remembers me as the meanie who would not let him chew the baseboards. I do miss his cuteness and his quirks though!

I rescued my puppy in October of 2008..she is a poodle/coonhound mix with some lab in her too.

I am absolutely in love with her...literally, head over heals in love with her.

Her name is Layla. She is perfect.

I also have a Holland Lop tort who is brown and white and just too cute for words.

His name is Noofi.

We have a Siamese cat named Francesca.

Some people may recognize her namesake:

I have two male orange tabby cats named Atticus and Mr. Knightley, but they almost always get called Attie and Knightie Knight.
