What are you procrastinating right now?

Everything.

Business bookkeeping; laundry....bleech! Instead, I'll daydream of jewelry.

Writing an essay.

Doing my hair so we can go out for dinner. My excuse is that it's less damaging if I let it air dry for a bit, first.

Going to bed. I have serious sleep issues and I just make it worse by sitting up all night, but I do it anyway. :nono: :nono:

macroeconomics homework
taxes
networking for future employment

Finishing my PhD. I am on the final final task of proof reading footnote and making sure they correspond to the right quotes etc. Dear God, it is SO boring! I CANNOT wait to be able to submit.... And I just bought myself diamond studs to try and motivate the last days of editing.
By the way- I know I don t post much. But I have a lot to thank PS for. As well as allowing me to get the sort of jewelry that I really should not be able to afford (i.e. if I bought in a BM), I have checked in daily whenever the boredom of thesis writing got too much. A lot of my RandR has been pricescope time. So THANKS everyone :wavey:

Gold-medal procrastinator here. Getting estimates for a new roof. Calling the termite inspector guy. I have Angie's List so DH leaves it to me to do those boring chores. My brand-new $800 Miele vacuum had a little jigger break off last week, 3rd time I used it. Bought it online so anticipate being sent from seller to mfgr to pillar to post; putting that off. Dropped an espresso cup from a 1-ft height onto the edge of my stove -- didn't break the cup but chipped a piece off the enamel on the stove, have to deal with GE on that, I am mightily teed off. Putting that one off too. Joining Weight Watchers, planned that for months -- tomorrow.......

Followed by a fellow gold-medal winner. Lessee....yeesh...where to start?? Need to call a plumber to check out the new swamp under the house. We think the cold winter expanded a pipe and now when we run the backyard hose, it's leaking. Happy happy joy joy.

Avoiding sweeping the kitchen which is adrift with dog hair (I swear that dog should be bald) and the detritus of my whirlwind cake baking fiasco of yesterday. Avoiding housework in general.

Lazy about figuring out what investments to make with the (small) pile of available cash in one of my IRAs. I know very little about these things, and don't have the inclination to become an INVESTOR. Trying to protect and grow your money these days requires a freaking PhD, and even then you might lose your shirt. Sigh...

Avoiding sending out my resume.

Avoiding thinking about going to work tomorrow.

Avoiding my technical reading.

I'm very glad really, that the fed didn't shut down, but if it had, I had already decided to make some lemonade with the lemons given, and had plans to reseal my tub. That won't be happening for awhile now either.

OK...maybe writing all this down has shamed/motivated me. I think I'll go change the sheets and make the bed. That'll make me feel a bit better I'm sure....

Taking clothes to get hemmed. I really should learn how to sew because I'd save a lot of money if I could hem things myself.
Doing school work. It's a gorgeous day and that's the last thing I want to be doing today. I think I'll put it off til tomorrow.

Zoe, I know how to sew. Please feel free to put all your hemming jobs on the pile I have in my sewing room and I will happily procrastinate your hemming along with mine.

I actually got my taxes done yesterday! But only because I thought they were due the 15th and knew I wouldn't have any time during the week. If I had only known they were due the 18th I could have procrastinated them longer.

So...to make up for that flurry of activity yesterday, I will be procrastinating EVERYTHING all day today. It's a beautiful day too!

Thanks Maria!

-Marking papers
-Working out
-Lesson planning
-Taking books back to the library
-Returning items to Target

Instead I cleaned the house and did laundry.

I baish thee from this thread PPM!! You cannot claim to be procrastinating if you accomplish such useful and tedious tasks in the meantime!! ::)

 They ARE useful, but I constantly use them to justify procrastination of more important tasks.

:D :D :D

I have procrastinated getting my 3-stone ring insured since June 2010 (not smart, I know). After reading some of the horror stories though, I've finally bitten the bullet and insured with JM.

Oh man, do you want a list? I have a full page list of school assignments to do, I need to change the water in the fish tank, clean my house, get my car fixed (it needs breaks and it has a funny squeak, but since I only drive it within ~2 miles of my home at no more than 35 mph, I'm not worried about it), I need to get an oil change, and rake the lawn, and get this paper done, do my fafsa, apply to my transfer school, and make dinner in a couple of hours. What am I doing? Chasing my cat (we're only playing :) ) and arguing with Pandora interweb radio. They aren't doing a very good job today, I want something upbeat and energetic, and they want to play slow sad stuff.

Maybe I should just go to home depot and try to find an easy screen door so I can open the back door for some extra air too...
