For lunch, hamburger patties and hotdogs from Costco.
For dinner, pork ribs, chicken wings, and beef ribs.

It's gonna rain here all day, so nothing! Plus I'm morbidly obese so I'm on a strict diet, and newly diabetic.

So basically I'll be having some scraps and a glass of water. :lol-2:

I hope you can find some new favourite foods that fit the new criteria
I know when we cut out sugar our tastes changed

Baramundi or Cod. Asparagus and onions and sweet potatoes.
But it is just the two of us today. Our fourth of July celebration was postponed due to inclement weather (supposed to have family over yesterday but it rained) and hopefully we can celebrate together soon.

Noooo. You have to eat well and not starve yourself. You will lose weight better if you eat healthy and do not restrict calories too much or your metabolism will slow down to the point of conserving calories if you starve yourself.

A mediterranean way of eating with the pyramid is a good way to eat if it agrees with you and your health restrictions. Just one example of an eating plan. There are many different eating plans you can tailor to your needs.

It is most important is to find a way of healthy eating you can do easily and every day because if it is too hard or restricting you won't be able to stick with it. Think of it as a lifestyle more than a diet. It shouldn't be punishing. You should be able to enjoy eating in a healthful way for you and your body and mind.

I'm grilling shrimp, salmon, and LightLife veggie dogs.

Pork ribs! They are a treat, as we don’t eat them any other time during the year!

today is also my mother-in-laws birthday so we are going to hubby's niece's house for a get together so we are having whatever she is grilling...only good thing about getting old is you don't have host the parties any more...all I got to do is bring cheesy potatoes and buns...and oh yeah my adult beverage so I can make an attempt to be civil with his family :lol-2::lol-2:

We're having Baby back ribs and grilled corn on the cob! DD is making a Red Velvet cake with white icing and will probably throw
some blueberries and strawberries on top for color. Our neighbors are doing a firework show so we'll probably walk down and
watch. Hoping for no rain (or at least only a little) today!

Happy Independence Day everyone!!!

@missy you are too sweet to write all that out and post it! Thank you so much xxxxx I only got the diabetes news a month ago, so I'm still figuring out what I can eat, and testing my blood sugar a lot. I feel like I need to learn a whole new way to cook!

Happy Fourth to you!

Hamburger, hotdogs, homeade potato salad, cucumber onion salad, sliced tomatoes, and watermelon!

My teens are going to their friend’s for the 4th, so dh and I were thinking of just getting some sushi or hand rolls instead of turning on a grill for 2! It’s going to be a hot one here in So Cal, so I’m willing to oblige!

pulled pork with slaw. I don't generally eat pork anymore but have been actually craving it. Its too freaking hot to even cook outside (I got pretty nasty sunburn yesterday) so InstantPot it is! I've already made the slaw. Its quite yummy.

Because my oldest is now on a kidney diet, I made coconut ice cream.

I hope you don’t mind me responding directly to you but please check out the Gluten Free Life thread, there are a lot of low carb recipes. You and I are close to the same weight and the exact same height so I know the struggle. Thought this might be helpful, I hope it doesn’t come across as overstepping!

Hamburgers grilled on kiln dried cooking wood from Georgia :lickout:
For dessert, I got these beautiful strawberries that were picked in a field near us just this morning!

Oh how I long for freshly picked strawberries! Too much rain here for any to be picked, so maybe when the rain stops…. Enjoy - they look simply luscious!

Our contribution to DH’s family BBQ are ribs and corn - all grilled. I’ve been hungry all day!!!!

@YadaYadaYada - not overstepping at all; I am very grateful for the advice and will go over to the thread to see what ideas I can get. Thank you!!

We are celebrating the 4th tomorrow and our son’s 7th birthday (his birthday is the 8th). We are going to the cousin’s house so it will just be a small group.

Menu:

Cucumber salad
Quinoa and veggie salad
Pasta salad
Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken
Corn on the cob
Fresh fruit
Ice cream cake
Regular and GF Nutella brownies

Actually most of the menu is gluten-free which is great because most of the time when I go somewhere I have to bring my own food.

Burgers and corn today, pork paby back ribs tomorrow. Tomorrow we will have 2 BD boys, my son turns 36 and my cat Barsik turns 5 (our only cat whose date of birth we know for sure).

I'm not a huge hamburger person so we did steak, mushroom risotto, & broccoli rabe! Mmmmmm

It was my first time cooking risotto but turned out lovely!

Dinner last night was scrumptious. We had grilled Barramundi and grilled onions with sweet potatoes and a big salad. I didn't take glamour shots though...only a few hurried photos as dinner was waiting :)

Sorry, I took this photo before I made it pretty. I added pineapple and melon and blueberries to the salad after I took the pic.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Barramundi. Supposedly a healthy and environmentally sound/sustainable choice.

And of course, ice cream. No yummy meal is complete without those magical 2 words. Ice Cream.

My husband says that it is his favorite fishie. We all can trust him, he is a very picky eater! So it is not only healthy but also exteremely delicious. I have one thawed piece for his lunch tomorrow :lickout: IMG_6279.JPG
