Besides the normal "toning up" that brides go through, any other preparation you are doing (or did do for former brides) in the beauty department?

Me: I''m staring to use moisturizer. I''m embarrassed to say I never use it but figured I should start now. I also have really, really curly/unmanageable hair. I''m starting to lay off of the harsh products that I usually use (hairspray and what not) and using some natural curl products. I''m also letting my hair grow.

I''m in the process/going to

1. be sure to drink lots of water

2. start tanning about 5 or 6 months out, and slowly slowly tan ( never have done it before, and am extremely pale)

3. Teeth whitening! (strips)

4. Maybe get my first facial? Not sure If I have the $$ for that, but it would be nice to get a few before the wedding.

I did:

1. Teeth whitening tray (the kind you get from the dentist's office). And I was extra diligent rinsing out my mouth after every meal, especially after coffee, tomato sauce, etc.

2. Worked out hard (always do, but there were times I was getting to the gym 5 days a week)

3. Listened to Pandora and bought the Oil of Olay regenerating serum - very nice moisturizer

4. Was extra diligent on sunscreen

5. Was extra diligent moisturizing/exfoliating my feet. A while ago DH and I discovered Salex cream (by prescription) and we can't live without it

I have less than a month to go, and I''ve been:

1) working out more - focusing mostly on upper body since I already walk 30 min each way to/from work
2) letting my nails grow out and being sure to file any rough edges ASAP rather than pick at them until they have to be chopped off (awful habit of mine).
3) letting my hair grow out. It grows quickly, and I often let it get long before chopping to back to my shoulders, so this isn''t anything new for me.
4) Found some awesome callus remover stuff that''s done wonders for my feet.
5) I haven''t been good about it, but I need to start drinking more water. I have chronic dry lips, and the only thing that seems to work for keeping them nice (I''ve tried every balm on the planet) is drinking ridiculous amounts of water every day.
6) using clinique''s acne face wash and toner religiously twice a day. The stuff works fantastically for me. I haven''t had a full on zit since I started using it, nor is my skin dry. The worst I''ve had is the smallest of bumps that nobody else would notice and goes away overnight.
7) continuing to use biore''s pore strips. Nothing else clears the blackheads on my nose better.

Yikes, I should probably not admit all that I am doing, but . . .

1) joined Jenny Craig
2) going to the gym daily
3) I already have a serious skin care routine, but I''m adding peels at my facialist
4) taking a six month break from highlights to let my hair get smoother, deep conditioning at least twice a week
5) growing hair out
6) whitening my teeth with trays
7) not yet, but when it gets closer I''ll start using self-tanning cream.

ladyciel -- what is this awesome callus removal stuff you speak of? I need it, I think! That''s the one thing I really want to do before my wedding.

Sorry to threadjack - just wanted to recommend that you try the PedEgg for callouses. It works really well on mine.

With a month to go:

- I''m eating really cleanly - lean protein and lots of veggies. Cutting back on sweets and fries and stuff, trying to lose the last 2-3 pounds.
- Running more (see above)
- teeth whinening with crest white strips
- being really careful with sunscreen if I''m outside. I burn easily and I don''t want lines.

I guess that''s all I''m doing, except for the normal stuff the week before (eyebrown threading, bikini wax, manicure, pedicure).

I haven''t started my regimen yet, but in addition to what''s already been mentioned, one thing that''s been recommended is being sure to get 8 hours or more of sleep on a regular basis for several weeks before the wedding. It does wonders for your skin, not to mention your disposition!

The sleep tip is very good except I''m an insomniac that''s taking a class and working and planning!

1. Going to the gym more, athough I''m not great about it lately with my schedule..
2. Eating less, cutting out as much salt as I can and eating healthier.
3. I have someone who does my facials so I''m going to her regularly.
4. I got my deviated septum fixed to breathe/sleep better (and they fixed a teeny bump on the bridge while they were in there, teeeeny! my nose is still swollen too, eep)
5. Cutting out weekend party''ing or keeping it to a minimun. So not very much alccohol intake if any from week to week.
6. White strips (closer to the wedding date)
7. Drinking more water.
8. Taking ALL of my vitamins everyday (instead of slacking!)
9. Growing my hair out and using a daily ''it''s a 10'' spray on it after I shower.
10. EXTRA moisturizing and additional skin products on my face and neck everyday.
11. Trying to use more sunscreen.
12. Trying to moisturize my whole body more.
13. Willl force myself to sleep 8 hours a day a few weeks before the wedding.
14. Doing my regular mani/pedis once very 2 1/2 weeks.
15 Will spray tan just before the wedding.

I''m sure I''m forgetting something, I''m all about the beautry routines! My fitting is in two weeks. I was hoping to lose a bit of size around the chest/middle area... probably will completely cut out salt this week, that seems to help me a lot. I need to lose a bit of weight before the actual day so my rehearsal dinner dress fits! I was hoping to lose it beforehand so my wedding dress is fitted perfectly without any drastic weight loss.

I didn''t even think about the sleeping tip. Thanks for mentioning that ladies!

I found it in the nail section at the drug store, and it's called "Callus Away". It comes in a little bottle along with a file. You put it on, let it sit for a few minutes, and then use the file to buff away the callus. It was actually pretty gross to see how much came off my feet the first time I used it! Just be sure to only put it on true callus, not healthy skin, and don't let it sit longer than what they tell you. I haven't tried the Ped-Egg, so I can't compare the two, but I love the Callus Away stuff.

ETA: Here it is

Ok, I am not engaged, but I hope to be sooner than later, and I would like a VERY short engagement, so I want to be "ready" whenever it happens, if you know what I mean :) Here''s what I''m up to...

Diet: Eat to live (book). Kind of like a Daniel Diet, all natural foods and lots of it!

Drinks: No wine in the house, period. This is my fatal flaw, because wine makes me want greasy food!

Water: at least 32 oz a day, in addition to water with ACV. It is supposed to be a cure-all, so I figure it can''t hurt!

Exercise: Cardio (30 mins treadmill, elliptical and/or dog walking/running) plus 30 day shred or P90X (these are videos that focus on strength and resistance, with cardio. The kick @$$!!! Will incorporate Buns of Steel when I get closer to my goal weight)

Sleep: I am not getting 8 hrs, but I will get on a regular schedule 12-6:30/7am

Nails: Keeping them EVEN!

Hair: Laser hair removal! Pricey, but so worth it for me!

Teeth: back to the basics... brushing with baking soda and peroxide!

lol... I am looking at this list, and um, I seem to be a mess! hehehe

Oops - I think it was my threadjack (sorry). But thanks so much for the tips, MaggieB and ladyciel!!

I decided I want long hair for my wedding (after chopping it all off several months ago). It is just now at my shoulders. While my hair does grow fast I am not sure it will be long enough in 9-ish months.

SO... I have started taking a BIOTIN supplement. BLONDEBUNNY swears it has her growing at a crazy rate, so it can''t hurt to try it! I am taking 5000 mcg a day and hopefully my hair will be nice and long by the wedding day!
