I know there are some serious shoe lovers out there who would be happy to recommend shoes to me =) Here are my preferences/issues:

1. I''m 5''10" Fiance is 6''1-6''2. So Anything above 3" is pushing it. I''d rather not have complete flats though.

2. The shoes need to be comfortable. I mean that - I detest uncomfortable shoes. They don''t need to feel like bunny slippers, but when I see someone in 4" strappy peep toe stillettos, and you say, "Oh, but they''re actually SOOOO comfortable." - Don''t try it, I KNOW YOU''RE LYING! Just like when starlets say, "Oh I just eat junkfood all day and never exercise" and yet somehow they have a concave stomach? I don''t think so!

3. Wedding ceremony is indoors, reception is outdoors. So these shoes have to work with grass...maybe some kind of wedge? Not platform though - brings back too many 90s prom flashbacks...

4. Look - I love the look of those manolo sedarby''s, but they obviously blatantly violate rules 1-3, and are ~2x what I would be budgeting for this. Simple, classic, etc. are my goal. My (99% sure) dress is here: http://www.amykuschel.com/gowns/ingrid.html

5. Color - silver would be great, or ivory. Also not opposed to a bright blue or purple shoe to add some color.

Shoe genies, work your magic!

Thanks,
RZ

PS attaching a photo of the shoes I wear to work almost everyday. They have a 2 1/2 inch heel, which is PERFECT.

Size?

Any style issues (like stay away from strappy, no peep toes, etc) and when is your wedding?

ETA: And what exactly is your budget?

Size : humongous - Okay, I''m 5''10" and I wear a size 10. I probably would wear a size 10.5, but that size does not exist, so I usually get a 10 in shoes like sandals or slingbacks, and go for an 11 in things like boots that I will be wearing big socks with.

Style issues - just not ''clunky'' - peep toe is good, slingbacks are good, ankle straps are good. SUPER strappy (like straps all over the shoe isn''t my favorite)

budget - I''d really like to not go over $400 max, which is way more than I''d ever spend on any other shoes, of course. I think the most I''ve ever spent on shoes was $100-120

Summer wedding in Malibu.

have you looked into stuart weitzman or kate spade websites?
i think they have pretty wedding shoes.
then again, i think you have a LOT of option in your heel range and budget.

btw, i am so-o envious of your height!!!

Have you checked out this site? Lots of cute bridal shoes on there. My original bridesmaid is very tall and she found cute kate spade shoes that had 2 1/2 inch heels.

http://www.myglassslipper.com/

You know the manolo sedaraby's at bergdorfs did come in a shorter height (70mm). I got the 3 1/2 inch ones but they DID come lower! My wedding is outdoors in grass too... Just saying!

ETA: This site is cute too. http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com/ and it has a category where you can shop for shoes in the height you want. http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com/category/007717.shtml (mid heel category)

Thanks everyone!

Freke, I liked the very first purple one you posted...the only thing is I think I want a bit more formal (I think the fabric on that is suede?)

I've checked out the other sites...my glass slipper is really cool! I keep finding shoes I like though and they end up being 3 1/2" high. I don't know what it is, but my big feet can't really stand to be in a shoe like that for long...

Here's a few ones I really liked:

http://www.myglassslipper.com/products2.cfm/dept/SHOES/ID/3318 Kate spade, I think I would add some kind of "shoe jewelry" didn't other people find a good site for that?

http://www.myglassslipper.com/products2.cfm/dept/SHOES/ID/2100 too high, and probably too strappy, but OH SO gorgeous....

http://www.myglassslipper.com/products2.cfm/dept/SHOES/ID/3323 This is probably my dream shoe...except it is 3.75" and they don't have my size =( Can you tell I LOVE bows?

Ebree - I think the cute/simple and the funky/glam linked to the same shoe?

Violet,

Is bergdorf''s only in NY? The only major cities I am regularly in are San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston (not that I don''t love new york, but my schedule is SO packed with travel already...) I have to imagine there is someplace in LA that will carry them...LA is full of people with $$$$$!

You''ll have to let us know how those shoes work out on the grass! I think if I wore those incredibly expensive and beautiful shoes and they were ruined I would be crying at my wedding...and not tears of joy! =)

I ordered mine from Bergdorff's. They shipped them out to me and I think they are the only ones that carry the shorter heel... bee or someone correct me if I'm wrong. I thought it was exclusive to them though.

I'm also wearing the silver leather ones so they should make it okay. They're not stilettos and the ground won't be super soft. I'll let you know though for sure!

ETA: I go to LA a lot and called around there but no luck.. Barney's in LA didn't have my size at all. The silver ones are so hard to get sometimes!

If you''re walking through grass at all beware of satin shoes, if the grass is wet at all they may stain. Also dyed shoes will dye your feet in that situation. I''m walking through a lot of grass so I kind of nixed the idea of dyed magenta shoes for my b-maids. They''re wearing silver leather as well.

Well, I have a couple of thoughts.

At the wedding I just went to, three of us had these Naturalizers - the bride, me, and one of my friends (I think you met her - Sarah with the dark curly hair). We all thought they were really comfortable and we all wore them for a really long day and weren''t in pain at the end. I know they come in silver - Macy''s carries them, not sure who else. But they were super comfy, and looked cute, and the heel isn''t too high (2.25"). Might be worth trying them on.

Also, when I was looking them up I saw these with a bow which also come in silver, don''t have a super high heel, and look like they''d be cute.

I LOVE those naturalizers. I wore them to my graduation which was on grass and didn''t have any problems and they really are comfortable.

Okay, you and I are the same height and shoe size (though I''m a 9.5-10). I''ve found the Nine West generally has the most comfortable shoes for me. I can walk in them all day (heck, I just bought 2 pairs yesterday!). I would say try going to a Nine West store and trying some on...they were having a huge sale yesterday, and it might still be going on. I got a great pair of comfy shoes for my friend''s wedding for $30. (with a 3 inch heel)

Rock, Taryn Rose makes comfy not too high wedges, in silver or platinum, and as she was an orthopedic surgeon at one time I think they truly are comfy. Not cheap, though, but I think you could use them after the event. I got the Daphne wedge in black patent and love it, and if I recall it came in gold or silver as well on Zappos.

Rockzilla, I, too live in the size 10.5 limbo! So, I know these are not wedding shoes, but I wanted to let you know that Merrell, Nike, and sometimes Nine West carry 10.5s. I loooove Merrells, so thought I would pass along this for your future foot happiness.

I will check out the nautralizers...they could be a good bet.
Unfortunately, I have never found Nine West to be comfortable. I always try them on, thinking, "well maybe this pair will be comfy" and they're not...probably something specific about my feet.

Thanks Amandine for the heads up...I'm sure you've experienced this before, you go into a store and ask for a 10...they go and look, and either they don't have it or it is slightly too small. You ask for an 11...they give you this look like you have three heads, "Oh, we don't carry anything THAT BIG" as if you just asked for a size XXXXL dress.

Strangely, I have the opposite problem when bra shopping, "oh, we don't carry that size, nothing below a ____, why don't you try the training bra section?" (OK, the second part of the was just the look in their eyes, but usually they point me to something that belongs on a 12 year old)

Violet - SO tempting, that 70mm is egual to 2.75" But I would definitely have to try them on...

I checked out the Taryn Rose site actually it links you to zappos. The only silver shoes seemed pretty tall, BUT Taryn Rose is the new celebrity IT shoe. I gues pregnant Angelina Jolie and pregnant Gwen Stefani (who ordered ten pairs recently I read!) are into wearing these, because they are high heeled and stylish but very comfy. (and super pricey) They look nice though I bet they are super comfy.

Try them on send them back if you don''t like ''em! Easy to do I ordered four pairs from various stores first time around, got all my money back on the ones I didn''t want either.

Anyways my FI is 5'' 7" and I''m 5'' 3" and I got the 3 1/2 inch shoes. He was a bit nervous about that but I assured him I wouldn''t be taller (hahaha). Of course with my hair up... anyways...!

LMAO!! Sorry, but that was too funny!!

I just looked at your dress. So beautifully classic. I love the train and the scalloped top. Fabulous.
