HI All
I love reading everyones wedding day stories. They are helping me a lot. My wedding is next July so I have time -
Many of you have had your weddings, or have them coming up in the next few month/year. I wanted to ask for feedback on wedding day makeup.
Did your makeup last all day?
What did you use?
Did you do it yourself or have it done?
If you had it done, was it by a local spa or beauty shop?
I was thinking i could do my own but i am often reapplying my makeup throughout the day and i really want something
that will last all day! I dont know what is best to use. what are you thoughts? stories?

THank you in advance!

I had mine done by a MAC makeup artist at the MAC counter of a mall. I was more than happy with the results. Even in 90 degree heat with me sweating like crazy, the makeup lasted and didn''t run. I would suggest getting your makeup done, but ONLY if you make sure to do a trial run first, because I''ve also heard some horror stories. It''s MAC''s policy for you to buy $50 worth of makeup at the trial and on the day of, but I had the sweetest M.A. who didn''t make me buy anything at the trial and was only going to make me buy lipstick on the day of.

I had a makeup artist do my makeup for our wedding and it lasted ALL DAY. I think my makeup went on at 9 AM, and I didn't go home until 10 PM and the makeup still looked perfect.

Spring the $50 to $75 for a makeup artist, it is so worth it.

ETA: My makeup artist was my best friend's sister, who works for a local salon. I would have used my MAC makeup artist if I hadn't had that connection because I wear nearly all MAC makeup and it's great.

i got married a while back, but here''s my makeup story.
i did several trials including the airbrush makeup and i hated everything the did and or thought geez, i could do this myself. so that''s what i did. i used MAC makeup. the foundation - studio tech. the powder - blot powder. my skin looked flawless in pics. and trust me, my skin is NOT flawless by any means! if i were to do it all over again, i would do the same.

one thing to keep in mind... make up needs to be amped up a bit in order for you to look put together in pics.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I have read so many different ways to go, well do it yourself or have a MA do it.
Price is my problem but I suppose I could start inquiring about price now and see.
I have never tried MAC makeup, perhaps i should buy some and try that myself as well. Thanks all
Any other tips for ALL Days lasting makeup - please send theM!

MY daughter used a make up artist who only uses MAC products. He sealed it with airbrush. Her''s lasted all day and night. She just needed to re-apply gloss. One thing forgot to buy and I suggest you do, is MAC blotting powder for the BM''s and other''s to get rid of the sheen that comes with sweating.

Mine on the other hand. Blech... I do a much better job with my own products. I think MAC is great for younger skin, but I NEVER put powder under my eyes and they did that to me. I couldn''t stand the way I looked and it was off after one fast dance.

Hi Alicia,

I just got married in Maui last week and I was really concerned with what to do about my makeup...I really stink at doing it myself. A few weeks ago I went to a Bare Escentuals store and had a bit of a makeover done. After that, I kept practicing with the makeup and just felt like I kept getting worse and worse at it. On Maui I had trouble finding ANYONE to help me with anything, but I found someone to do my hair, so decided I could probably do my makeup pretty well with a little help from my friends...turns out I just used a little extra of everything and I think it turned out alright...I only used the Mineral Veil one more time when we came upstairs to bustle my train, and I *think* my makeup held up pretty well all day...I posted the pro pix on here a few days ago if you want to check my makeup out...I swear I haven''t been able to do it the same since, tho! Hope that helps!

I was thinking about getting my make up done by MAC, but ultimately I''m having someone who does hair and make-up come to the house to do hair and make-up for me and the bridesmaids. I did have a trial run at a local hair salon...i don''t know if anyone has seen Napoleon Dynamite? There''s a girl there who wears her hair in a side pony tail, she somehow made my hair look like that, and then the make up artist made me look like Mimi Bobeck from the Drew Cary Show. But in pink, I''m Asian, I DO NOT look good in pink. My only suggestion is to have a VERY clear picture of what you want, and don''t do what I did and say, "do what you think will work best".
