Does anyone know of any good sites worth checking out for those looking for database developer and/or data analyst positions? I''d like to help my husband look for a new job in northern New England, where we''d love to move back to. Right now, he''s relying on headhunters, but I feel like he could be doing more on his own. I don''t mean to micromanage, but I''d like to help him if possible. The only sites I know are Monster and Dice. He''s not into networking, so LinkedIn isn''t really an option (I''ve suggested that in the past). FWIW, my husband has experience developing and managing databases in the medical and legal services fields, and he''s also worked as a data analyst for a student loan company in the past.

If anyone can recommend a site or two worth checking out, or can point me in the right direction, I''d really appreciate it. Thank you!

In addition to dice.com, your husband could also check tech-centric.net and authenticjobs.com

I lurk here often and I believe you posted previously about contract positions. If your husband isn''t opposed to contracting, I know of a technology recruiting company that has many job listings similar to what you described, and places people in IT positions all over the country: www.teksystems.com. Many of the contracts are long term or for-hire. I haven''t contracted through this company personally, but know dozens of people that have, and they have nothing but positive things to say.

Good luck!

One good site is qajobs.net
It''s worth a look see :)

That is what I do for a living. Why is he against networking?

Thank you so much Candy, Smurfy, and Merrijoy!

Candy -- good memory! I''ll pass along the Tek Systems link to my husband.

Smurfy -- I''m so clueless about his field, so any recommendation is good for me! I''ll let him know.

Merrijoy -- my husband is an odd duck, what can I say?

I''m not sure why he''s against networking (not for others, just for himself). He just says it''s not in his "nature." He''s kind of shy, and if I was to guess, I''d say that part of the reason is that he doesn''t feel comfortable contacting "random" (for lack of a better word) professionals. He also feels like he''s gotten jobs through headhunters and on his own in the past, and he doesn''t feel it''s necessary. If I was in his shoes, I''d gladly take all the help, support, etc. that I could get, but I''m not.

Hello Zoe, my hubby is in the IT industry and we live in New England! I just asked him if he knew of any sites and he told me to paste this link for you. So here it is! linky

Good Luck!
