We found the dress as well as a veil and they are absolutely beautiful! I will have pictures up as soon as my mom gets home and sends them to me! it is so form fitting and slenderizing, I cannot wait to wear it at the wedding!!! :) Also he told me I can lose as much weight as I want before they alter it as long as my boobs don''t get much smaller haha, shouldn''t be a problem :) Anyways, pictures up very very soon!!!!

I''m going out for the day, but can''t wait to see when I get back!

Cannot wait to see!!!!

Wow, that was quick! Did you go back to David''s, or did you find it somewhere else?

I think that if you''re planning on losing a whole bunch of weight, you need to wait for as long as possible before you order the dress in any size. When I saw that they had told you that, I figured that the dress would have little detail. Now that I''ve seen it, I would say that if you drop more than 2 sizes, you''re going to have some serious altering costs attached to the dress. Being that you''ve already lost 3 sizes, I believe, this is a significant concern. You still have over a year until the wedding, and if you continue losing weight at that rate, that dress will either swim on you or it will have to become a totally different dress to accommodate for the size difference.

Having said all of that, I think it''s beautiful.

I''ve got to ditto Freke on all counts. If you are going to continue losing weight at the rate you have been (and HUGE kudos to you for your success!) you should hold off ordering the dress for as long as possible until you''re the size you''ll be at the wedding. Bosoms change dramatically during weightloss. It''s where we gain and lose weight first. I wish we could spot reduce to keep the rack and lose everywhere else, but the girls are the first to go.

With the detailing on the bodice, any change in your bosom is going to affect the way the halter sits. Unless you want to spend a serious chunk of change to have the bodice taken apart and remade, wait until you''re done losing weight (or within a size of what you''ll be at the wedding) before you order.

Congrats on finding THE dress!

I am worried too...since you just got engaged and plan on losing weight I would hold off ordering it.

Ditto Freke...it is going to be expensive to alter if you need to alter it more than a size or two.

And not to mention that at least with me, the first place that I often lose weight is in my chest...

Great choice Smurfy! I think that the dress flatters you very nicely. The detailing is really gorgeous and I love that slightly dropped waist on you.

I agree with Freke too though on the sizing stuff. I had a friend who recently got married and she had purchased her dress 1 1/2 years before her wedding after she had gained about 15+ pounds on her very small frame (probably went from size 2 to size 6). She was freaked out about not fitting in the dress come the big day so she still ordered up a size. Well... she lost all of the weight and then some thanks to her stressful new job. Apparently the seamstress said "well THIS should be interesting" when she realizes she would have to take several inches (probably 3) off of her intricately beaded/embroidered bodice.

You do have a good amount of time before you would need to order assuming that this dress will take the standard amount to come in. Did you already order or are you going to hold off?

Congrats on finding THE dress!!

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto.

The dress is lovely...but highly decorated. The bead work is what makes it so pretty. If they have to cut the detail of it, and do it poorly, you''ll lose some of the WOW!

I would hold off at least until after the Holidays...which will give you plenty of time to order and have it altered...but also enough time to let you loose more weight and get closer to the size you want to be.

It looks lovely on you! I love the embroidery on the dress and the train.

Well with all that said, we already ordered it lol
I''m not planning on losing a WHOLE lot of weight. mainly just toning up what i have lol
the seamstress they have is really awesome and i still have about 300 in my budget to do extra altering (it will cost 140 just to do the basic stuff, shorting it and bringing it in) so i really do think it will be ok. I have some more pictures I didn''t get put up on here, I''ll put them up later

Here''s the picture I forgot, it''s more of the detailing

Thritto!

But if it''s not that much weight (like 5-10 lbs) you should be ok. It''s just I am speaking from personal experience..I was told I could lose up to around 30-40 lbs and everything would be fine. Then my dress came in..and it was, "Oh, no..too much detail..can only lose maybe 1-2 inches everywhere now..max". Blegh! But glad you found such a beautiful dress, so exciting!!

Mainly I quit drinking beer and cut down on going out with friends (I''m getting a little old for clubs lol) and that is what caused the major weight change over the last couple months. I think it will probably be like 15 lbs. max which is fine with me too

It''s beautiful! Of course, I might have to take credit for the halter top idea.

I would also consider waiting since your wedding is over a year out. And even if you''re only planning on losing 15 lbs, it would be better to see where your weight goes over the next few months to see if you could order it in a size smaller than what you would order today. I know I''d rather wear a dress that''s the right size than deal with the cost and hassle of major alterations!

Plus, you could continue to try on dresses and send us pretty pictures, which is harder to justify once you''ve already bought the dress.

Seriously Smurfy, I would call them back and tell them to hold off on ordering it. Since you found it today (or yesterday) I'm sure that no work has been done to make it yet. Even a weight loss of 15 pounds can make a serious difference. I also have a large chest (and actually lose weight there LAST, but what can you do) and every time I've lost or gained any weight, my body shape has changed dramatically, and things that looked good on me before looked awful on me after--even with alterations.

And if you're planning on losing 15 pounds, and it all comes from your midsection, you're going to be looking at a lot more than $150 in alterations, because they will have to do reworking of the beading and detail on the bodice. I had a wedding dress for a debutante ball, and I lost weight in the time between ordering it and it arriving, and because of the detail on the bodice (only embroidered lace appliques) it ended up looking awful on me. And it cost over $350 to get it altered.

I don't want you to lose weight, get the dress and have it not look as good on you as the dress looks on you now. And I don't want you to be stressing out about it when it's closer to the date. No one needs that kind of stress.

With the way it looks on you now, I'd either stop trying to lose weight so as to minimize alterations, or tell them they need to hold off on ordering it, and wait until you lose the weight to see if you love it on your new figure.

I just don't want to see you ending up disappointed or stressed out.

Well being that we already bought it and I fell in love with it, I will probably just not lose the extra weight.

It looks FANTASTIC on you! Beautiful dress.

It''s beautiful!

It looks beautiful on you! 15 pounds is a lot, but I think it''s a dress size (or 2) so they can alter it. Congrats on finding it!
