I am SOOOO flippin excited. After 3 failed offers (the story is way too long to get me started)....we closed on our house yesterday!! It was a fast sale to a real estate agent who was already qualified. I didn't say a word here or IRL in case things fell through again. But it went off pretty smoothly!

Yay! No more double mortgage, double utility bills, running back and forth between two houses to make sure that everything is OK at the house we weren't living in! No more neighbors and friends asking us "any news yet?" (well intentioned as they are!). I am so relieved I can't even put it into words.

Now....what does a girl do when she all of a sudden has extra money floating around and is no longer stressed to the gills??? :naughty: Yup, she buys jewelry (with DH's blessing). It will be a while for the big reveal, as I'm working with Ari again and we want to get every detail right. Here's a little hint....it's a RHR....and, for anyone wondering, I'm still going to sell my emerald/diamond ring if I can since I really don't wear it. I think I may keep the eternity band though. ;))

Anyway, thanks to all of you who were so supportive and kind through this 6 month ordeal. It's definitely been a strain on finances and tempers, but we just kept reminding ourselves that it would end eventually, and it did!!

YIPPEE!!! HOOOOORAY!!! WOO HOO!!!!
:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Fantastic news - so glad your stress level will drop back to normal now! Ah-- relief!!! (can you PLEASE keep that gorgeous emerald band??? PLEASE KEEP IT! )

Hi Enerchi,

You were one of my best cheerleaders, so thank you! I just can't justify keeping a ring I don't wear, especially since the RHR Ari's making is going to be something I don't think I'll ever want to take off, so I'm out of fingers, lol! Hope you're having a good weekend!!

:(( :(sad ;( DAMN - I love that ring and its too small for me :((

I'm so happy for you!!! What a huge relief - nothing more stressful than the uncertainty of a sale, all the while watching your finances drop, drop, drop. But what an interesting little tidbit of info you are hinting at.... sounds lovely - how long before we get more deets??

(feel free to just bundle that emerald ring up and I'll put it thru my nose/eyebrow/lip/navel, if need be! >>>JK! have none of the above! )

Enerchi, if you want the ring, I'll have it sized for you! What size do you need?? :naughty:

Yes, the uncertainty as you watch your bank account empty month by month is scary.

Design details being worked out, but it wouldn't be too much of a leap to assume something vintage, since I think that's what Ari and SS do best. Just struggling to decide on rose gold, unplated white gold, platinum, as well as some of the design elements. I always seem to drag my feet in this area.

hmmmmm, what do you already have the most of? Do you have any RG? if its an antique (or antique-like) stone, RG would be wonderful, if you don't have anything already in that metal. Or the unplated WG. I'm very enamoured with RG right now and find that it works so beautifully with the older stones --- but so does the unplated WG. Yeah - tough call! Especially if this RHR will never leave your finger - you gotta be REALLY sure!

I think you have the best DH - he's so sweet to treat you to another beautiful ring! :praise:

That's wonderful news - so happy for you!! I know that must be such a relief. :appl:

Enjoy the freedom - that's what it feels like, doesn't it?

Wow, now that WAS fast!!! :appl: Congratulations!!! I can empathize because we also bought a new house before selling the old one!
Can't wait to see your new project! If it is diamonds, I vote rose gold if the diamonds are low colors and platinum if higher colors. I don't think I'd like platinum on one hand and unplated wg on the other, personally. (Not that you asked, but you know we always have an opinion! )

Congratulations on selling the house! I had the same situation a couple of years back and not only were we paying two mortgages, the market dropped 40% in Florida and we took a huge loss. But, I was still relieved beyond belief when the second home finally sold. I'll be looking forward to seeing details on the new ring. Such an exciting time!!

Mikla, I don't even want to talk about what we lost. We didn't even get the original 20% we put down. :(( :blackeye: However, as MGR, the freedom of being out from under 2 mortgages is phenomenal and we're trying to let go of the fact that we lost in the 6 figures.

Great news for you, especially in this housing market!

Can you give us a few more hints about your RHR? Would love to know what you're up to!

:appl: :appl: :appl: YAY!!!!! Super news Yenny!!! I'm so so happy for you guys!!! Many congrats on selling the house finally and all the best!!!!

Hi,

Congratulations. This must be quite a relief.

Annette

Are you at least able to claim the loss on your tax return? I hope so - that would help to mitigate the loss a bit!

Hmm, that's a good question MGR. My BIL is an accountant (though I do our taxes), so I'll have to ask him.

Mom2boys, all I'll say is that I'm hoping for a 3 stone (assuming that Ari thinks the group works well together, since the center was not paired with the sides). I literally just sent the stones to Ari after closing (I was still within my return window and hadn't paid the bill on our credit card, waiting to make sure the closing actually happened). So, once I talk to Ari, I'll know more. Unfortunately, TGal already has my dream 3 stone, so I'm trying to find something that makes my heart go pitter patter the same way hers does. So far, nothing I've seen has come even close. :errrr:

Congratulations on selling your house!!!! It has to be such a relief!

I can't wait to see your RHR!

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. I surely could have used a deduction for that too!!

Well, that's a bummer. :blackeye:

Oh, I always love a good 3 stone! It's my favorite style so far! Can't wait to see what SS come's up with!

YESSSSS, Yenny! What great news! I can imagine your relief & how a good night's sleep feels -- we were in the same situation in the last recession. Not much fun paying 2 mortgages. It's OVER! And your new beautiful RHR will be the memento of freedom! Can't wait to see what you come up with! :appl: :appl:

Congratulations Yenny!! that's great news, selling the house and buying a new ring... :appl: :appl:

Thanks Laurie and DF! I've been surprised by how many people have been through this! I'm so glad we are finally in the group that has lived to tell about it!

Yay!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Congratulations! What a relief for you and how exciting to be working on a new RHR. :appl:

:appl: Great news, Yenny! I can't wait to see what you create for your new RHR!

We held onto DH's old condo when we bought our home four years ago and figured we'd just rent it out until the market picked up. Joke was on us, right? I was so terrified we'd have to bring money to the closing, that when we didn't it was a thrill just to get it off of our hands. He lost so much on that sale, and let's not even talk about the special assessments he paid over the years. In the end it was such a relief to just get rid of it that none of that mattered--we were free, and now you are, too!

Congratulations, yenny! :appl: What exciting news, such a relief to be DONE with it all. I can't wait to see your new RHR; I'm sure it will be spectacular. :))

Thanks Haven and justginger! I woke up again this morning with a huge smile on my face!! It's amazingly liberating!!

Yay, great news!!

We're remodeling our new home but still living at our old home, so I know how annoying it is having to always go back and forth, and pay double bills for both houses. :angryfire:

Congratulations yenny!

We have just put an offer on a house (not accepted yet), and will be trying to sell our house soon, so I read your thread with extreme interest.

The relief must be...priceless. :praise:

Ugh Laila, remodeling is no fun but the end result will be more than worth it! Begonia, congrats on finding a house both you and DH liked enough to make an offer. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your offer is accepted and your house sells ASAP!!
