Lordy girls. I''ve developed a wandering dress eye. Please wish me luck in making it stop. I never thought this would happen to me, I am always the person on here saying don''t look! Now that my dress is almost here (and I do love my dress) I keep having an urge to look at dresses!! My dress needs to get here NOW.

Maybe we should start a support group?

Hi, I''m Erica and I can''t stop looking at dresses enough though I have a beautiful one hanging up in my closet.

Omg I feel so guilty, I mean I am always the one that says stop looking. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! Anyway. Hi Erica, I''m Sarah.

See my dress is satin and I keep getting afraid satin won''t work for a summer garden wedding. But I didn''t like any of the lace dresses I tried on!

Ahhh I am losing it.

I keep thinking that my boobs are too big to pull off a strapless dress.

I have this terrible vision of me stepping on the edge of my dress and having "the girls" come springing out.

Your FI would probably like that--I know mine would! Well, if it was in private anyhow...

ETA: my boyfriend that is...getting a bit ahead of myself there!

Don''t worry about that one Erica the bigger the easier to hold it up..I think..I hope..uh oh.

Sarah, I feel your pain. I ordered an ALine dress with tons of beading and lace, almost an antique look. Now I''m looking at the current trend, and it seems like simple sheath with lace is the look. I worry that I''m going to look stupid and out of style with an outdoor ceremony

I saw your Christina Wu. I think it will look gorgeous in a garden!

Hi, I''m Courtney and I have a wandering dress eye.

It started out on PS when I was tempted by beautiful brides in their gowns. They posted pictures and looked so radiant....I just couldn''t help myself. I started clicking links, searching for more pictures, and before I knew it...it would be hours gone by.

hahaha

But seriously...it''s hard not to look!

Hi, I''m Stephanie and I have the same problem. I found a dress that is so similar to mine, but with a little more detail and I almost went and tried it on. I love my gown, it''s great....but but...that one had a little more "bridal" gown look to it. I have to keep telling myself NO! NO! NO!

I''m married and I STILL have a wandering dress eye. I think some women just love looking at wedding dresses.

Hi, I''m Jessica and i have a serious wandering eye problem. I can.not.wait. for my dress to come in so that maybe it helps. Somehow, i don''t have hight hopes though

Yes, I believe I may be addicted to second guessing my dress. I spend at least one hour on it a day.

Once it comes in, you will feel much better. Mine took 5 months to get here and I could not STOP looking at other dresses.

I do think that's a bit of my issue, too. They told me it would be here in May. Well, it wasn't. So then they corrected it to the end of June/early July. Well of course I am supposed to go back to my university which is over an hour away this weekend, but I called and my dress will be in NEXT WEEK. So I am either going to stay and wait around for the dress or make the over an hour drive twice. We'll see. With the cost of gas I may stay here...but anyway I just wish it would come in.

ETA: Made a correction, meant to say end of June/early July. Oh and thanks everyone for letting me know I am normal!!

Hi, I''m Maggi, and I have been cheating on my dress for about two months now. Despite having a lovely dress hanging in my closet, I went with a friend so she could try on dresses, and I actually caught myself PETTING a dress in the salon. My BFF had to walk over and wave her hand in front of my face to bring me out of THE DRESS ZONE.

seriously, mine is straight up paranoia that my dress won''t be alterable because it''s so long, and i''m afraid they''ll have to destroy the bottom detailing to make it fit, so i''ve been keeping an eye out in case i wind up having to repurchase at the last minute!

I haven't even been looking at other dresses, but I have to admit that I have lost that "lovin' feeling" for my gown.
39.gif
Oh well. I've had to resign myself to the "it's just a dress, and everyone else won't even give it a second thought anyway' argument. Meh.

Maybe I should go try it on to see if I fall back in love...

this is sorta my sentiment too. i just can''t seem to get super excited about it again

. i even went back to try it on to make sure i still felt the same way ''in'' it....and i did. but i lost it about five minutes after i took it off. i go back and look at pictures, but i get the same ''meh'' feeling.

i''m chalking it up to the whole wedding process losing its wonderlust. is it a beautiful dress? for sure! but now that that part is over we''ve (not you and me musey, just everyone in general!) moved on to other things...is it going to fit right, how much are alterations going to cost, is my mom going to be able to do the bustle right, are the cleaners going to be able to get out the stain they put on it when they steamed it, etc. It''s not some miraculous, stand alone force anymore - it''s just another part of the wedding that we have to coordinate and think about. OTHER DRESSES, however, don''t have all those thoughts attached to them...making themselves look all yummy.

i think that once we all get into our dresses on our wedding day with our hair and makeup and veil and flowers, whatever, it''s going to be something totally different. at least i hope so, that''s what i''m banking on!

I have this fear too, about taking mine in

Wah! Maybe once it's successfully altered (if they can do it) I'll fall back in love.

Hi I''m Lily and I have a major case of wandering dress eye!

I didn''t tell my mom about my sample sale Amsale gown and was dreading it because she hates showing skin. We even went to a salon and I tried on a beautiful La Sposa Melodia 2008 gown that I''m in LOVE with. Its the complete opposite of my gown, easy to move in, all lace, strapless mermaid. LOL.

But in the end the price tag of my sample sale gown prevailed along with my practicality. My mom finally saw it, approved, and my WDE has gotten much better since. I''m only looking now, with no intention of possibly purchasing.

BUT BOY IS IT HARD NOT TO!!

hi, i''m calidaisy and this is so-o me!
i''m hoping i''ll get better once my dress is altered ... but i''m afraid i''m wasting too much time just "looking."

the good news is, i''m in love with dresses (1) i cannot afford (too many to mention); and (2) will not look good on me (ML Scarlet) .. so i should be ok for now.
2.gif

So my dress came in today and I think I am cured! It came in early, I think fate intervened. Well maybe not cured..but I am clean for a while at least.

Mimzy, trust me-you look amazing in your dress!! Seriously wow!

This is the reason that I''m not starting my dress shopping for a few months! I''m afraid of finding one and then finding another one a few months later!

Sarah-your dress is beautiful on you. Look down when you walk past those dress shops!
