Love your pictures. It''s a glimpse of a world so few of us get to see.
My husband used to travel to China and at times, some more isolated,
interior cities. The pictures he would return with were shocking to me
at the time. He hasn''t been in years and probably won''t ever go again.
I''d love to see more of your pictures - thanks for sharing.

i''m LOVING your pics esp the n korean ones! i''m a high school social studies teacher and we''ve been talking lately about n & s korea and the conflict as of late re: the s korean ship that was blown up by n korea.
i''m truly fascinated by your n korean pics. if you have more, i''d love to see ''em.
none of us will ever see faces from n korea except maybe the ones you took pics of![]()
Great pics Cehrabehra! I didn''t notice your thread until this morning, but I enjoyed it very much - very few people get to see N. Korea. The Dandong bridge in your photo isn''t really unfinished - we bombed the NK side of it during the Korean war. In your night shot, you can see the new, working bridge behind it. And I''m guessing that the guard on the Yula riverbank is more intent on searching for NK citizens trying to swim across the river, than a Chinese tourist boat. Keep the pics coming - I''d love to see more.Date: 6/8/2010 5:50:18 AM

Here''s a pic of that bridge during the day... it''s not the same angle but you can see where the bridge drops off and is unfinished and you can see the fairly (in)famous ferris wheel that never seems to move... everything you couldn''t see in the pic above after dark.
Keep posting. These are all so interesting -- even (maybe especially) the ordinary things.Date: 6/8/2010 8:28:08 PM

thank youI feel like I should only post pictures that are of interest to people, but to me the ones that are most fascinating are the ones where I just took pictures of very ordinary things... things that no one takes pictures of lol
I also love architectural details so a lot of pictures that are really boring to anyone who isn''t keen on those. Lots of doorknobs and windows and textures, especially in europe.
Ooh interesting! tell ME more!! haha - and yes not only is that working bridge behind it but we saw a train take a load of chinese tourists over (I have some pics of that) and it was really weird to see... I felt a mixture of watching people go off to a death camp or the wonka factory. eerie.Date: 6/10/2010 9:42:43 AM

I have never been a fan of nk but when I was there looking at the people living I didn''t see struggles but almost in some ways an idyllic life set back in time. I am in no way defending their leader, but in some indescribable way there is a far less complicated old fashioned life there that a part of me envies... of course this is the same part of me that identifies with the unibomber lol Oh no, how am I sounding now? haha No worries, I''m a geekgirl thru and thru.Date: 6/10/2010 9:43:25 PM

Thank you so much for sharing. Your pictures are fantastic, especially the one of the bridge at night. It really, really illustrates the hard line betwene North Korea and China, doesn''t it?
