So, thank goodness yesterday was my last day at work for a few weeks, because today my daughter called and the venue for her wedding this Friday said her Amex Card declined the balance.
Apparently, because she is using it so much right now, it has a security hold on it. But because I already wrote my daughter personal checks for all the venue costs, if I called with my card, it would bring my balance below a dollar level that makes me comfortable.
Sooooowa, I suggest I activate the card for my equity line that I have never activated and use that one (which was dumb, because that is interest only, but I will pay it right back so, hopefully no damage).
So, after going through all the hoops, like activating the card, emailing my permission to charge it, and it all going through, my phone rings....
Thank goodness I was home and knew that it was probably bank security to check on the transaction. I never answer my home phone...ever. Not unless a person calling knows the secret way to let me know its them. I have a nephew in jail who loves to call me and it always costs me a fortune. Anyway, it was bank security and I confirmed the charge was legit.
Then I got a return email from the catering manager. Game ON!! My daughter is getting married on Friday...whoooohooooo!!!!!
I did tell my DD that Amex better fix that security issue quickly so I get that money back. If I have to pay twice for the wedding, then when she gets pregnant she better have twins!!
