Hi everyone,
I would just like to vent out some anger over my recent situation with a vender. I have made a purchase for a diamond wedding band for my fiance, which she hand picked and loved. On the day we went to pick it up, they tried giving us another ring, but in the same style. If we didn''t notice the difference in serial numbers, we would have been fooled into taking a ring that''s 0.02ct less. They told us that one of their staff accidentally placed our ring, which we have purchased in full, back into the display case. Consequently, our ring was purchased by another individual. Boy, was I furious at that moment and all they could do was order us a new one and explain that the new ring will be the same.
Eventhough it''s the same style it''s not the same ring. As a very thankful member of this board, I have learned that no one diamond is alike. Even if diamonds have the same colour, clarity, carat, and cut, they are still different. Each diamond will have it''s imperfections, which acts like a finger print. I just wished I remembered that point when they told me the new ring will have the same specs and will look exactly the same as our old ring. It''s quite infuriating to have someone screw up your plans due to incompotence.
. It''s just not right to take someone''s money and not provide them with what they purchased. Anyways, that''s my story, and it does feel alittle better to speak it out, but I''m still upset at the whole situation. I really shouldn''t be too upset over a sparkly rock, but it''s just something that''s important to my fiance and probably most other women. It''s just hard to see her face change from full of excitement to complete diappointment. It''s never fun to watch that...

What I don''t understand is how they could possibly make a sale on one item twice, without having it returned/refunded between the two processes. Shouldn''t their systems have shown that our ring had been purchased and would halt the second purchase transaction. And how come they didn''t inform us of this mistake when it happened, but instead they tried to hide it by giving us another ring?!?

Eitherway, we will be going in to check out the new ring this weekend. I hope for their sakes that it looks spectacular, because we only have 1 month to have this issue resolved
