OK, and get this - now he is complaining about how much the additional experiments are going to cost for supplies. Um, seriously?!?!!

Ok, this is getting weird!

One argument: Yes, professor, you are right, it is dreadfully expensive and since we already have ample data in this area, perhaps we can do without this additional expense......

That seems reasonable to me.

Sadly, that assumes that any of this is *reasonable* - unfortunately, we are far past that point...

Sounds reasonable to me, but this guy is without reason.... NO?? I really don''t get it. I am so frustrated for you...

He has occasional flashes of being reasonable, but mostly, its just like a completely unpredictable black box of decision-making. The only good thing is that my message about when I will absolutely, positively, no ifs ands or buts, be leaving the lab seems to have finally sunk in and at least he gets that if he wants this done he needs to be leaning on everyone to get it done ASAP.

This guy sounds like a piece of work. This is SO frustrating, not to mention unfair. I''m sorry you are having to deal with this. Here''s some dust that he''ll see the light and let it (and you) go.

Friendly advice: be careful what you say on this board. You never know who''s reading.

Awww I am so sorry AG! I have many friends with unreasonable advisors-it stinks!

Thanks neatfreak - definitely stinky, but at least it will be over soon...
