Wow - I am incapable of making a decision these days!! Hoping you could help me make a decision for my veil.

I am pretty set on a drop veil. I am going to buy it from www.occanseydesigns.com to save some money. Here are my questions:

1. Should I get the cut edge or a pencil edge? (I will attach pics of examples)

2. I got my sample package of tulle and they have a ''shimmer'' tulle that in the sample pack, looks really pretty. Subtle. I thought it would look nice with my dress since it is silk. However, the online picture on the scary mannequin looks weird. http://www.occanseydesigns.com/Gallery1/photogalEX118.html

Should I just stick with the plain ivory?

Thanks in advance!

Pics are coming...

Here is a pic of a knottie with the same dress and the cut edge drop veil.

What did GingerBCookie wear? Not that you want to be a copycat, but it''s pretty hard to improve on perfection and her wedding was truly that.

I vote a definite no to the shimmer. It sort of makes me think of Britney Spears.

And here is one with a pencil edge - the blusher is a little short but you get the idea.

Thanks!

the cut edge is sorta just unfinished, but the pencil a little to visible. haha, is there an inbetween? i guess i''m complicated like that

take that back. according to the link, the pencil edge looked to be too much. however, the pencil edge on the 2nd pic you posted looks PERFECT. that''s my vote.

Haha I KNOW! Those are the two most minimal options. Can''t get anything inbetween. boo.

See why I can''t make a decision!?

as far as shimmer, if it''s like the link, i''d say no. but you said it''s more subtle than that, so i dunno. i always go the safe route, so if it''d be me, i would probably do no shimmer.

eeks!! you''re going to be GORGEOUS!!!

I like the pencil edge without the shimmer.

Thanks Jcrow - that definitely helps. Yeah the link was just to show the weird shimmer.

I agree wiht you about Ginger''s wedding! It was her wedding that made me fall in love with the dress WELL before I was even engaged (eeks! Did I just say that outloud?!) so I''m already a copycat in my one eyes!

Ginger had a cathedral veil - no blusher. Her''s was definitely gorgous!

Anyone else have an opinion? Two votes for pencil so far!

Me too. In the first picture, like jcrow said, the veil looks unfinished. I definitely think the pencil edge makes it look more complete (and prettier).

I agree!

I prefer the cut edge, mostly because it doesn''t take any attention away from your gorgeous dress at all. I like how the cut edge just kind of floats there...but take that with a grain of salt, because I rarely like any edging at all on a veil...

I also vote for the cut edge. To me it looks clean rather than unfinished. The shimmer tulle looks kinda scary in that pic online, so apparently it''s pretty in person but really shiny in photos. I''d avoid it since your photos will be what you look at to remember your wedding!

OK, I've been searching for this ONE amazing picture I saw of a bride with a drop veil, and I found the picture I'm thinking of on Occansey, but I could have sworn this girl had a knottie bio or I had seen the photo somewhere else....anyone else every seen these photos?

Scroll to the bottom of the page, they are the black and white photos that are second from the bottom, where they are on the couch in front of the window and her veil is draped over the couch....this is what made me love the cut edge...it almost looks like a big spider web they are tangled up in...gorgeous!!!

ETA: This bride's cut-edge drop veil looks amazing too...http://www.theknot.com/co_profileview.htm?profilename=srpro

Ohh those are nice pics! Hmm...this is making it challenging. I usually see cut edge on the knot, but also liked the one I tried on with the little edge to it.

Hmm... thanks for the input so far girls! I really appreciate it!
