Home Vaginal Spotting while on cold medication...anyone heard of it?

I have a strange situation, whenever I take cold medication containing pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, Advil Cold and Sinus) I have light vaginal spotting. Not enough to wear anything, usually just when I wipe after using the bathroom (sorry if this is TMI). Has anyone heard of this before? Otherwise, I do not have any bleeding other than my period which comes and goes like clockwork every 28 days. I am 37 years old and have all of my reproductive organs in tact.

Hmmm....I have never heard of something like this....That drug has many side effects ( including dry mouth, dizziness, tachycardia, etc.) but I have never heard vaginal bleeding? Do you take any other medications ( e.g. birth control pills)? It could be a possible drug interaction (although that is somewhat unlikely too)....I would probably put a call into your dr on Monday just to make sure. Good luck!

I don''t take any other medications, no BC. I know it isn''t the Advil that''s in it because I can take Advil, Tylenol, Aspirin with no problems. It''s just so strange that cold medication does this.

Some medications cause increased blood flow to the genitalia. Is it possible that you have a small tear or abrasion and then the increased blood flow is apparent?

I would see your dr. It doesn''t sound like life or death, but you don''t mess around with lady parts!!
