DH and I have 4 kids, been married 11 years next month. The only time either of us has been out of the country was our honeymoon to Aruba. We have taken a few long weekends (maybe once per year) to a local beach town 2 hours away since the kids were born, but nothing major.

My bro and SIL are quite the travelers, and she finds great deals. She invited us to go with them in 5 weeks to Cancun for a long weekend, leave Thursday morning, return Sunday afternoon. The price can''t be beat...$500 at an all-inclusive resort INCLUDING roundtrip direct airfare!

I called her last night and gave her the go ahead to book with our credit card info, but now I am having second thoughts...

I HATE TO FLY!!!!!!! I mean hate, seriously hate. I know I will have to call my doctor to get something to take for the anxiety, but I am really nervous leaving my kids and flying to an island somewhere.

My parents will come to our house to stay with them, so they will be well taken care of...that is not the issue.

DH and I were planning to take a trip last year for our 10th anniversary, but I broke my leg badly in July and was still unable to walk by September, so we didn''t do anything.

I know it''s important to get away and re-connect with your spouse, but I am really nervous about this trip. Talk me into it!!!!!! I''ve already picked up the phone 3 times this morning to call her to cancel and then put it back down!

GO FOR IT!!!

There''s nothing like a long adults-only weekend to spice up things with DH and make you remember why you love each other.

It''s a short enough time away that you don''t have to feel guilty about leaving the kids. And, they''ll be well taken care of by family.

Have a drink at the airport before the flight, or take a relaxation pill if you need it, and just think about the wonderful sandy beaches that await you! Bring your IPod and listen to calming music, get a really interesting novel for the flight, and hold DH''s hand.

You''re going to love it when you get there!

DO IT.

Do it! Do it! Do it! You''ll have a great time and will want to do it again.

Do it!! Everything has aligned perfectly (time off, cheap price, childcare) do you to take this trip. Don''t hesitate.. GO!!! I have a feeling you will regret it if you look back next summer and realize prices are WAY too much and remember that cheap trip you missed out on!

totally go for it! we never really had a "honeymoon" so we''re waiting till our kids are a wee bit older to jump to some exotic place. four kids - You totally deserve a fantastic trip without the kiddos

Just make sure you have a will. TGuy and I are leaving for 9 days in September to fly to Australia. That trip has me nervous too, but I know time away is always a good thing.

ooh, DO IT!!! You''ll have a fabulous time! The first day you may miss your kids, then you''ll start to forget about them and then really be able to let your hair down. NO worries about them walking into streets, fighting with each other, driving you nuts (maybe your kids don''t do all that, but mine do, and let me say, vacations are the only motivation to keep me going)!

If you do take anxiety medication, be sure to take *VERY* little. If your dr. gives you Xanax, take less than 1/4 of the tablet. Don''t take even .25 mg. . .that is how much I use to help me fall asleep. . .and you don''t want to be groggy when you show up at your destintion.

Hope you have a great time.

GO FOR IT! I HATE HATE HATE to fly too...I''m going away in 4 days and I''m already anxious. I love to travel and if I don''t fly I would never go anywhere that I love to go (like the caribbean). Take this opportunity and go!

I would LOVE to have a long weekend with my husband. We have 3 kids and haven''t had time alone since I gave birth 9mo ago. TAKE THE CHANCE and go for it. Enjoy!

Do it!!! I totally understand how you''re feeling though- I just booked a trip for dh and me and I''m nervous about flying too. I HATE flying. My kids will also be with grandparents so I know they''re well taken care of, but the thought of getting on the plane is scaring me already and my trip isn''t until October. I''m going to get something from my doc for anxiety too. I know it''s scary but the fear will be short lived- the memories of the vacation will be with you forever. And with 4 kids, you deserve a break!!

Hate to fly? Take some good drugs and have a lovely glass of wine on the plane! Fear over, GO FOR IT!!

And just think of all that hot lovin''!

Go, go, go! You''ll have a wonderful time.

Go!!! I hate flying too (so bad I cry sometimes), but it''s sooo worth it once you get there! I hesitated to go to California (6 hour flight) in May but went and had SO much fun, and DH and I are going to Hawaii in 2 weeks (11 hours on a plane) - I feel sick thinking about it because I hate flying so much but I just try to focus on the fun we''ll have once we''re on the ground there. Just go and have fun!!! You won''t regret it!!

Go for it!!! I am a very nervous flyer too. You will have a wonderful time, and you are so lucky your parents will watch your kids. Ho and have a fanulous time!! Spending time alone with your hubby away with the kids, is sooooo important.
