Using Paint - Help!?

hi,
strm or others if you can help me with resizing images in Paint as I''m getting frustrated!
I have tried to follow the steps in Storms'' FAQ tutorial, however when it gets to the second step "crop to selection", no such option exists in my program??
Even the usual sizing handles for dragging and resizing aren''t there.
Do I just have a dodgy version or am I missing something?
Feeling silly, please help

Arjuna What I do to resize images in paint is

1) Click the square box in the top corner
2) Select the whole image
3) Click on the corner where the little blue dot is and move up or down depending on if I want to make it bigger or smaller

paint.net is a different program than paint and needs too be downloaded and installed first.

Strm , sorry I didn''t realize they are different. Do you think its worth downloading? Is it much better?
