Larry's just a bench, no retail store- basically you just call him and make an appt- he's located along Lake City Way, in the Seattle zip code part of it. He does most of the work for several of the antique jewelry dealers who sell out of the antique mall I work at, which is how I met him, and I've been taking my jewelry to him for 10 years. His workshop is something to behold- about the size of a walk in closet with tools on every surface- you perch on the toolbox and he often will size while you wait etc. (It's a silly sounding setup but his workmanship is amazing; he did that crazy bezel-rebuild and repair on my antique e-ring setting.)

Hrm. I know I can't post his phone # here. If you want his #, call or email me at work and me (or anyone else who answers the phone actually) can pass his info on. Just google 'antique mall' and we're the um... fourth result.

How hilarious that DH is all about the boat rather than the jewelry. Well, now he can't gripe if you do what you want!
Perfect, thanks! I'll call the antique mall if I decide to set locally. Hopefully WF can just switch the eng. stone right into the pendant I already have. One thing I really would like to have done is my .50 ctw studs made into thin bezels. . .that I'd love to have designed locally

The only work inside WA I've hired was at Foxfire in Woodinville with my DBTY pendant and the guy made it custom and it ended up costing over $650!

I've hesitated ever since.

Ouch, that seems like a LOT to me. I''ve never gone inside FF I have to admit. Hopefully it came out perfect at least!

Yeah, ideally just a quick switcheroo by WF would be perfect. Larry has set a bunch of earrings and rings for me, and he tends to be great about ordering stuff from Stuller if necessary- with no shop overhead he tends to pretty much just charge whatever Stuller''s cost is plus setting- my 14K Stuller leverback earrings were $40 if I remember right, for the earrings themselves and the work both.

FF has quite a unique & distinctive style entirely different from the DBTY sleekness. The reason I picked them was because I had wanted my pendant made quickly so I could wear it for Christmas and they were the only place I could find who could finish in time. They did do a good job but the pendant flips even though I was told it wouldn''t.

I''m late to the thread, but put me in the upgrade your ering and wear your original stone around your neck camp!

Thanks. I looked at a few diamond rings today (as I posted about in RT) but they both were poorly cut. The general size looks good on my hands. Actually, I would love to go a bit bigger, around .80, but budget is lower than that. lol
