Do you have a fascination with unicorns?

I admit I do not. It seems so improbable, a mythological horse with a unicorn, to me.

But if you are a fan of unicorns, I'd like to hear about it.

Pictures would be an added bonus.

Funny you ask, yes...at least when I was younger! Ever see "The Last Unicorn"? What a movie.

I actually believed I could speak in "Unicorn language" and insisted on using it with everyone. And one year, my mom made me a unicorn costume with a head and horn molded out of coat hangers. Pretty ingenious, really.

I still think they're cool. I've always thought they could really exist, too.

I confess I used to love unicorns - way back in my early teens - but I loved the unicorns of mythology and medieval tapestries -- not the Candyland / neon / cartoonish unicorns. Once other people knew of my craze for unicorns it became the focus of all presents I received - but the unicorns given were not the mythological or medieval creatures I loved but the psychedelic or pastel-ish comicbook type depictions... It spoiled my interest in unicorns and I got rid of the whole collection. I still love mythology and Grimm's Fairy Tales and well-told sci fi / fantasy books. But now I keep my collections to myself.

I think I was more obsessed with pegasuses than unicorns as a kid. I'm not really sure why though. Maybe it was Fantasia's fault because I remember that one scene/song with the white an black pegasuses.

Not a huge fan, but my friend and I came up with a threat level chart for me to keep at my desk, and the lowest threat level is "Polka Dotted Unicorn".

I liked unicorns when I was a little girl. lol As an adult, I do love fantasy movies, but am not "fascinated" by any of the creatures in those stories.

I had an enviable unicorn collection when I was young. I wish I knew where it had run off to. I had pewter unicorns atop amethyst crystals, crystal unicorns, porcelain and glass unicorns, and I made my best friend carry a pink and purple Unicorn Pillow Pet onto a crowded Southwest flight right before Christmas. Unicorns pretty much rock.

Yes. And Pegasus. I have always been in love with Robert Vavra's book of unicorn "photography" that he did. I love unicorn and pegasus artwork.

Beautiful Pegasus. Do they like to be ridden on? I watched the new Clash of the Titans the other day and the gal in the movie said they've never been riden. Would the Pegasus need it's wings clipped? lol

I can't believe I am admitting to this, but I was obsessed with unicorns as a young girl. In fact, I had a unicorn collection and had "The Last Unicorn" movie memorized. My obsession migrated to real life horses and I took riding lessons for several years (no, I did not pretend I was riding a unicorn).
