Hi everyone-

I''m getting a little bothered by all of this undergarment business. I originally tried my dress on with a slip and longline bra at the bridal salon. However, every slip and longline I''ve tried with it since then just doesn''t look right (boning is visible, slip makes the skirt bulge in weird places, etc.). I''m thinking about just wearing a regular strapless bra and then get spanx to help with the tummy control. I''ll either go with no slip or just a long everyday type slip. Do you think this would be enough?

Here''s my dress (it''s not fitted yet):

I really don't think the dress needs a slip. As far as avoiding lines? I think a "spanx" bodysuit would work the best.

I have that Spanx bodysuit, and I think I am going to wear it under my wedding dress. (no crotch flap for me!). The only thing is that it''s a bit hot to wear.

I think the other option of a strapless bra and Spanx on the bottom MAY give you a line at the waist from the Spanx waistband. You''ll have to try it with the dress. If it doesn''t and this combo works for you, I don''t think you need a slip, unless your dress is sheer.

I thought I''d get the one that goes right up to your bra. Would that help avoid the line around the waist?

Assuming there might be a line...wouldn''t it fall just about where the waistline and ribbon is on your dress? Maybe that would conceal it

I have the Spanx that goes up to your bra line, which I wear with a strapless bra for summer dresses and I''ve never had a problem with the line being visable.

That''s what I''ve got for my dress...I think some of them have this thing now that you can kind of attach to your bra. Not quite sure how it works.

Good luck!

Okay, I just went to bloomingdales and picked up some Higher Power Spanx... and I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone here who suggested that. I was so frustrated with all of these undergarments that I had actually started to think I got the wrong dress.

Well, who would have known that my trusty strapless bra and $36 spanx would be all it took?! I tried on the whole ensemble today (dress, shoes, veil) and I finally felt like a bride since the first time since I bought the dress.

Also... thank GOODNESS for that gusset. I can''t imagine having to take these on and off all night! Yikes :)
