I am in need of a good ultrasonic cleaner. My martini set studs always have so much gunk behind them. Gross, I know!

I''m happy with the GemOro Sparkle Spa. I tried the Brookstone US - just got all the ick wet and left it there

Glad you started this thread. The Sharper Image one that has so many fans here appears to have been discontinued after Sharper Image filed bankruptcy then re-emerged. They have a steam-cleaning machine now, but no ultrasonic cleaner.

The Frontgate one was also highly recommended. On the website, it says that it requires no detergents. But putting in the mix of Windex and dish detergent won''t hurt the Frontgate machine will it?

I gave up on US after going through several cheap ones then an US, then a Blitz one. Now I just soak things in jewelry cleaner, use a soft brush and use my steam cleaner on the weekends. The steam cleaner does a great job!

I''m very happy with my Branson B-200....I clean everyone''s jewelry now. Actually, I pry rings off of people''s fingers to show them how good clean jewelry can look....it''s a sickness, I know.

$129.99 on Amazon here

My SI US finally died about a year ago. I procrastinated forever and then finally bought whatever it is that Gem Appraisers sells on their site...I don't remember the name and am too lazy to get up and look at it. It took a long time to arrive but it was $50 I think and works fabulously. Diamond life without a US was horrible...my ring never seemed clean.

I have the Crest Ultrasonic, I believe DF has it as well. I don''t have a link... I have had it for 4 years, love the heat function. I star

ted out with the Sharper Image one, it didn''t last long... Love the Crest, it''s awesome!!! I think I got the 1 quart one. Have to say, my DD comes home with her martini studs I gave her from WF with all sorts of gunk. I get them looking better than new with the Crest.

So is a steam cleaner better than an ultrasonic? Are there any that do both?

mine is a Gemoro 1 QT with heat.

Okay . . . I''ve taken your advice and looked for a Crest. They''re all ginormous and industrial. How big is yours and where did you purchase it?

I found one that is half a gallon and $415 ....

That seems spendy for an US to me..

I got a Sparkle Spa this year. It worked great, but after about ten times it quit. I wrote the place I bought it from on ebay. They said they have a two week return period, and maybe the mfr. would replace it. I did not bother with all that. I looked at the steam cleaner on Front Gate. It looked amazingly similar to my Keurig coffee maker.
So, I put my rings in the coffee dispenser of the Keurig and cleaned them that way. It works for me. I just get tired of spending money for jewelry cleaners that konk out. Apparently, you have to buy one that takes up way too much room to get a quality product. I live in a small cottage, and hope soemone can recommend something tiny with some power. Until then, I''m using my Keurig!

I'm watchin' and readin' this thread closely!

My US (the li'l SI one) is still pluggin' along, but then again, it hasn't had much use (HENCE the current reset!!!!!!)

Once I get the new ring, I expect I'll be US'ing it to death, so I am assuming the li'l SI one will go belly up shortly thereafter and I'll be looking for a replacement!!!
Keep the posts a'comin', please!!!
