So I went this morning to pick up my dress from the cleaners and when the girl brings my dress up I see a few black stains on it very small, but still I saw them and my vision isn''t very good!!! I was like um....excuse me, but where did these come from. First of all my dress was new when I dropped it of at the cleaners she saw me take it out of the box and it''s original wrapping. I asked for it to be cleaned and pressed. Really it didn''t need to be cleaned because it wasn''t dirty, but I asked that it be done anyway. So she goes to the back and comes back with the stain gone, but a few other stains aling the bottom. So I asked her to take it back again and I pointed out the stains that needed to be address. All this time Fiance is in the car waiting for me. SHe brings the dress back out and GUESS WHAT UGH I felt like screaming it had a huge stain a little bigger than a quarter right in the middle of the dress and it was yellow! I said OMG what is that. She says I have no idea I''ll be back. She goes to the back and I ask her to bring the manager up with her. They bring me the dress back stain was removed, but I can still see it. Fiance gets out of the car to see what the hold up is so he saw my dress! The manager is acting like oh the stains where already there and I was like NO they weren''t the dress is NEW. Plus the yellow stain was fresh they had just put it on. My fiance starts getting upset because he see''s how upset I am and how these people were acting like oh well its just a stain. Long story short I refused to pay for the crappy job they did, but I am so upset. I didn''t want him to see my dress until it was actually on me on our wedding day. That stain is going to drive me crazy it is really small now, but it makes me so mad that they put it there. The manager said it was a grease stain! Can you belive that! That jerk thought I was what cooking with my dress on or something. They were so rude and I am so mad that I even took my dress there. I took it there because they are a big chain in town. I should have taken it to a mom/pops place and they probably would have done a better job. Anyways sorry for the long post, but I am just so annoyed right now, but I need to get it together I have an interview in two hours so for now I need to focus on that. Thanks for listening to me vent.

awww, that sucks! the same thing happened to my cousin--when she went to pick up the dress, there was a distinct boot print, like a hiking boot, on her train, and they said she did it (you have to know my cousin to see the humor--she wears stilettos to baseball games-seriously--so there''s no way she''d be caught dead in a boot!). i''d ask some other brides for advice on where to take it, have someone else clean it to treat the spot they left, and as for your FI, it stinks that he saw the dress, but it''s not like he saw you in it. he''ll still be just as blown away by how beautiful you look, so no worries on that one!

So sorry! What a nightmare! I hope another cleaner can get it out... The truth is no one else is gonna notice but I am so sorry that you have to deal with knowing that the stain exists... and that your fiance has seen the dress pre wedding day... both things would irks me to no end. Sorry!

That''s a terrible story. But I don''t understand why you were having a brand new wedding dress cleaned?

Thanks everyone. As for why have a new dress cleaned? IDK stupid of me I guess, but since I was having it pressed I thought it should be cleaned too. The stain I can''t really see it much only when I have my glasses on so hopefully no one else will be able to see it. AT this point I am scared to take it anywhere else.

That is TERIIBLE! I would call up the high end bridal shops in your area and ask for a recommendation on where to go for it to be cleaned. DO NOT trust any regular cleaners. Even mom and pop ones.

You should get a steamer and just deal with wrinkles at home when you order a dress online. Dry cleaning can yellow certain fabrics period, and wedding dresses should only be cleaned by places that specialize in it. When I needed my Rivini cleaned I got recommendations from some of the high end bridal shops here. It cost a lot but was worth it. I wouldn''t take my dress to a regular cleaner, honestly. They can screw up a 30 dollar top, let alone a wedding dress.

Best of luck!
