So I was reading an article where the Honey Baked Ham Co. sells the most hams the week leading up to Thanksgiving, more than Christmas or any other time of the year. I was curious what you have for Thanksgiving? Or do you have something else? I heard tofurkey is pretty good; I would like to try it sometime!

We actually have both.

I''ve been dying to try tofurkey! It sounds yummy.

We usually have just turkey at my parents house, but at my in-laws we have both. I looooove honey baked ham with pineapple, it''s so good with the sweet potatoes. Aw, man, now I''m hungry.

Both!

Princesss and Kiett, I was wondering if people do both; this will be interesting to see what most people do.

We just do turkey at Thanksgiving and usually a ham or roast beef at Christmas. We always do a ham at Easter, though.

And Tofurkeys are pretty disgusting-my mom made my vegetarian sister one a few years ago and she couldn''t even eat it because it was so bad!

oh no, the package makes it look so yummy, bummer. that is good to know. I would have thought that the Honey baked ham co. sold more hams at Easter because we had one for Easter growing up; I guess not.

turkey for thanksgiving... and ham for xmas... if we do ham at all.

We have turkey and pork shoulder (aka ''pierna'') on Thanksgiving. Sometimes someone will bring ham but my family doesn''t usually make it. We also have rice and mashed potatoes. Flan and pumpkin pie...you get the idea. Suffice it to say, there is A LOT of food.

Yum!

Big turkey and a slice of ham for the oddball who doesn''t like turkey

We always did the turkey breast...from Honeybaked Ham. LOL.

And actually, Skippy and MP, I just made a Tofurkey last week and really enjoyed it! I actually started a thread about it... Linky

OMG! soooo good! we have both. and I have to agree, honey baked ham with pineapple is fantastic. I only eat the turkey if I can drown it in gravy and mashed potatoes

Haha...yeah...I just made it one random night for dinner b/c it was at TJ''s for $10 for the "turkey" and gravy combo. Like I said...I liked it...so did A. So it''s not a really expensive experiment...

Turkey, always. Ham is for Easter!

Usually turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas. My best friend in high school said that her family always has oysters on Thanksgiving. I have heard of people doing that, but I have never been to a Thanksgiving feast where oysters are involved.

We do turkey and ham at Thanksgiving, roast beef at Christmas. I''m not the hugest fan of turkey, I only love what comes in it (STUFFING!!!

). And of course, next day turkey sandwiches are the best.

I did have a turducken 2 years ago, that was darn tasty too!

my mom used to LOVE Honey Baked Hams. we''d have them every thanksgiving. so i started making our own turkey every year for me and Greg because otherwise we wouldn''t get any! now mom kind of trades off depending on what she feels like but we still make our own small turkey.

didn''t it used to be like a ''christmas ham'' kinda thing? now it''s moved to thanksgiving i guess!

That''s what I always thought. I have never heard of Ham for Thanksgiving??

We''ve always had turkey on Thanksgiving. We (my family) save ham for Christmas time, but lately even ham has been replaced with other things, like swordfish or pot roast, for example. I''ve been to friends'' houses who had a big Italian meal, so there was everything under the sun for Thanksgiving. It was great! We just stick to the basics though: turkey, homemade stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, and usually green beans, pumpkin pie, and maybe an apple pie.

We have turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas and Easter. DH loves ham and will just pick one up for ramdom meals too.

I had never heard of turducken until a few days ago when I saw something about it on the Food Network. My husband''s wanted to try it but I don''t think I want to. Apparently it is good though!

Our family will be doing Turkey, I''ll have Fish or shrimp or crab.
