Fi and I rescued a kitten tonight and he is soooo adorable! But nobody seems to know the breed so we are trying to figure it out :)
Here are some photos we took, this is saffron at 8 weeks old :)

Sorry I don''t have better pictures

He''s a little camera shy but a GREAT cuddler! His eyes are bluish/greenish (i say mostly blue fi says mostly green

lol)
So if anyone has any ideas let me know!

Looks like it could be a long haired domestic to me kinda what my little one looked like a little ball of fuzz, congrats on the rescue stinking cute little kitty :)

So, so cute!

Thank you for rescuing him! Lucky boy!

Oh, he is so adorable!

He looks like a domestic longhair to me. (ETA: I should say: domestic longhair isn't a breed, exactly, it's just what they call kitties that don't belong to any particular breed. Most rescue cats will fall into the DSH or DLH category, I imagine.) Whatever he is, he's gorgeous!

What a sweetheart, thank you so much for rescuing him. I have a special place in my heart for black cats, I think they are just the most precious of them all. Saffron's a great name!

I''d say maybe even domestic medium hair. My black cat looked a lot like that when he was a kitten, and turned out to have the most beautiful coat - it''s not short, but not long either. I love it because he doesn''t shed as much as my short hair tabby.

Congrats on your new addition!

I believe he''s a Cattimus Maximus

Thank you all for the help! I was so curious :) He is a very cute little ball of fur but it''s back to being a mommy and keeping him chewing on things (including mommy''s nose) and from harassing the older cat as he likes to jump around a lot. I know pepper will adjust as he has before, he just is a little irritated right now :) I think i would have to agree with purrfectpear in the fact that he is most likely a catimus maximus lol

When Siamese purebreeds mate with generic domestic short hairs they can produce Siamese looking snowshoes or solid black cats with blue eyes.

Thanks! I had kind of thought he might be part siamese, part of me is hoping he''ll end up with a big swishy tail :) i love those! but for right now its just a little black stick lol

What a little doll!

He''s a little sweetheart no matter what ''breed'' he is.

My vet told me that pure black cats and pure white cats are both highly likely to have Siamese blood ... so wait and see if he exhibits any traditionally Siamese traits (being talky, liking water, etc.) - he''s a sweetie!

Just a little update on saffron :) His eyes are still blue as ever! He's eating solid food, using the litter box and learning not to scratch or bite people. And he has gained about 2 or 3 lbs!! He'll be 3 months old in about a week :) He sleeps when WE sleep

And is getting along well with pepper :) Also he has developed a verrrrrry faint little patch of white fur right under his chin so im not so sure he is part siamese anymore, but he still has those gorgeous blue eyes so who knows for sure! Here's some more pictures to share! The adorable redhead in the first photo is my nephew :)

Smurfy - I love his eyes!!!

On Craigslist I was an add for kittens and the mom was a purebreed Siamese and the dad was unknown. They look like your''s.

Half oriental I would say. One of my siamese when I was a child escaped when she was in heat and we had 6 black kittens. Sadly they didn''t have the blue eyes, but they did have the very loud voices and the bad behaviour.

He's beautiful, and those EYES!!!! Definitely suspect he's part Siamese.

Out of curiosity, does he seem to go cross-eyed at all? I have a Siamese mix with those bright blue eyes (beige with stripes and spots) and he's incredibly cross-eyed.
30.gif
The vet told me that was a distinguishing Siamese trait. But if their breeding (the Siamese bloodline) has been selective, they generally won't exhibit this trait.

The breed must be the Terminallyus Cutus breed. What a doll! Part Siamese maybe?

He actually does sometimes! haha I thought he just had a lazy eye :)

I updated on the other thread but thought I''d update on here too :)
Saffron is now 4 lbs!! He does have a small bacteria infection in his ear right now that''s being treated but since we got him his medicine he has been a lot more calm so maybe that''s why he was being slightly more aggressive before. His favorite activity is bending the blinds on the windows out of place and climbing in our wine rack (

i know lol) He is like polar opposites. He''s either cuddling with us and watching television (and hogging my pillow!) or causing trouble somewhere or bothering the other cat while he''s trying to sleep sooo you know we are working on those things lol :)
