I'm not sure Trump will ever leave.
The Republicans love him because he will help them get their agenda through (the agenda that their contributors paid for).

The Democrats love him because every time he does something stupid, people donate to Democrats and their causes. Literally, every time he does something offensive, I get an email from my state's democratic party saying things like "stand up against the immigration ban- donate now". Imagine how their cash registers have been ringing since Trump, their ultimate motivator, got elected.

So both parties love him. But I also believe that the Republicans are following him straight off a cliff, like lemmings. I'm not sure how they will explain supporting the most unpopular president in the history of the united states, to their grandchildren. "Were you a Congressman once, Grandpa?"
