I just need to vent, because I know everyone on here would understand!

Granted this is completely my fault, but I wish I wouldn''t have done this!

I''m visiting my parents at their home for the weekend. I don''t have a bathroom anymore so I have to share with them. In my apartment I have my jewelry box in my bathroom where I usually take off all my jewelry including my diamond studs.

When I got home last night, I didn''t have a place to put them so I put them on top of a large lotion lid and I completely forgot to put them back on this morning.

Well, my mom was getting ready and then she heard something fall in the sink and she saw one of my earrings and then realized what had happened.... One earring went down the sink!

I''m so hurt. That was my first major jewelry purchase. I don''t know what I''m going to do with just one earring.

I know this is silly but I feel like a piece of me went down the sink. They were so beautiful and even though they weren’t ACA, they were H&A, white and sparkly…

Why can't you open up the sink to try and get them? There is usually a screen/catch area...

That sucks though.

I did that once. Boy, was I upset!

But, the solution was simple. We opened up the drain trap and there it was - no harm done [and the trap got cleaned too - LOL!].

Good luck!

Call a plumber, get him to open up the trap.

yes, thank you!

My dad is working on it as I''m typing this. I''m just worried about not being able to recover it.

Never again will I take them off if I''m not home!

I hope you can find it!

Hopefully you will find your earring and have a happy ending...

Fingers crossed that you can retrieve it!

I have faith you will find it! Good lesson to remember though!

I would be incredibly upset too; don''t feel silly! Hope your dad is able to work a little plumbing magic

I''m guessing your dad already knows this, and maybe you too, but don''t run any water through the sink until you retrieve the earring from the trap!

Best of luck!

I ALMOST washed mine down the sink two weeks ago (caught it at the nick of time), and my heart was pounding for a good 30 minutes after. I REALLY hope you are able to retrieve it. Fingers crossed for you!

Any updates? Has the earring been recovered?

Ditto?

Oh, I''m so sorry your earring went down the drain! I''m hoping that your Dad was able to recover it!

Fingers crossed!

I''d be so upset too. I really hope that you find it!

Did your dad find it? My fingers are crossed for you.

more fingers crossed!!!

i really hope you got your earring! My mom thought she lost her studs a while ago, she was quite upset since they were her mothers. Then one day, a couple of months later, my mom found it embedded in her carpet! Really lucky she didn''t vacuum it up.

I hope it was recovered... fingers crossed!

Hey guys!

Yes, my dad finally found it! Thank God!!!!

I''m telling you I''ve nearly lost these earrings 3 times, but I think they''re destine to stick with me.

Thank you again for the dust!

I''m so relieved and happy for you.
