Wedding Toronto Brides... hair, makeup, florists and photographers?

Hi Ladies,

For those of you getting married in Toronto can you please suggest the following?

1) Where to get hair and makeup done? My wedding is on a sunday which is proving to be a huge issue as most salons are closed... arghhh

2) Florists and photographers? I am still on the hunt....

Hey ILTW - when are you getting married? I only ask because my hair/makeup girl is having a baby at the end of this year and isn''t taking any more clients after that.

However, I''d look into the artists who will go to your house/hotel then if you can''t do a salon. For makeup, I''ve heard a lot of great recommendations for Heather Snowie www.heathersnowie.com and for hair, www.bridaldos.com .

I can also recommend my photographers - Jess and Vanessa from www.boyfriendgirlfriendpictures.com . They are the sweetest and are super talented! We had our engagement pics done at the end of last year and we were super happy.

If you tell me your budget for photographers, I can give you some more recommendations, but I''d definitely look into the ones I went with haha I''m biased of course!

I, unfortunately, am not of much help because I haven''t yet looked into any of the above.

For your hair, can you ask your usual hair stylist to come over and do your hair for you? You dont need to be in a salon to have your hair done - most tools are portable. Also, I dont think anyone would know how to fix your hair as good as your own stylist. I know a friend''s friend who is a senior stylist at Civello (she''s amazing) but has her own clients on weekends. I wanted to try her, but she''s a bit far from me (I think she''s in Etobicoke). My friend is in Italy for the rest of the month but when she''s back I''ll ask for her contact and pass it on to you.

Make-up: A friend of mine asked me who was going to do my make-up yesterday and when I said I hadn''t looked into it yet, she was shocked. I dont know, I was just going to have a M.A.C. person do it for me. I love all of their make-up and use it on a daily basis - so I''d rather use something I know works well on me. Besides, I''d like to look like myself on the day of, so I''m not planning on changing my make-up routine much for the day-of.

Photograher: I dont have one yet, and I dont know of any either

Florist: My florist is based out of niagara, which might be a bit too far to transport flowers. But if you think that''s okay, check out Vintage Design Company

I am also from Toronto and still figuring out a venue and a date. I am going to get my regular stylist to do our hair as she will either book us all in on the day or come to where we are (www.lokisalon.com). When I was in my friend''s wedding last year, she had a makeup artist from one of the Shoppers Drug Mart come to the venue to do our makeup, perhaps that is an option. I haven''t even started to look for photographers or florists, but I''ll be following the thread with interest!

I will have my makeup/hair trial next week with Satine Make up Studio in North York area. Most likely I am going for this studio which has been highly recommended by a lot of friends who got married in the past. The artist do both makeup/hair FYI.

I haven''t start hunting for florist yet since I haven''t finished sketching my dream venue look to be.....Does anybody have recommendation on florists with sample photos??

And I have no idea how much it can cost... I heard some people get it for 900CAD some 5000CAD, what is the look/feel different with this great price range difference?

As for the flowers, it all depends on what blooms you use. Orchids and Hydrangeas are more expensive than lilies and gerber daisies. I''m sure you can still make a gorgeous bouquet for a reasonable price though!
