...is surprisingly good!!!

I''ve always been intrigued by the roasts, and so I decided when I saw one at TJs today that I would try making one for dinner! So easy, and quite tasty, actually!

I''d miss my real turkey on Thanksgiving...but this is a good substitute for those times during the year when you''re craving a turkey dinner but don''t want the hassle!!!

Tofurkey...LOL...

I''ve never tried it, but this reminds me of that episode from Everybody Loves Raymond when Marie made tofurkey. To everyone''s dismay, she even shaped the legs like a turkey leg! Though a bit oversized..

In the end, everyone snuck downstairs and ate the real Thanksgiving turkey that Raymond had delivered.

To be honest, I''m not really into Thanksgiving turkey. Something about the after-taste the next day that I can''t get past. So I usually make ham, roast chicken, seafood or BBQ something on the grill. But tofurkey is a great alternative to meat though!

How is the taste? I''ve seen them in the store but I haven''t been brave enough to try them. How are they to cook?

It takes like chicken.

They''ve actually managed to achieve a taste and texture similar to that of say a processed turkey lunch meat that you get from the deli, which is wrapped about 1/2" thick around a yummy bread and wild rice stuffing.

I cooked it per the directions on the package which have you put it in a casserole or foil pouch with some veggies and top it with a mixture of olive oil, soy sauce, and sage. 1:15 in the oven on 350, open pouch, add more marinade, and bake 10 more minutes. Comes out pretty yummy.

It sounds not too hard to cook. Maybe I''ll give it a try.
