I''m so excited to be done!!!!

I''ve known since my first year of teaching that this just wasn''t for me. However, we were going to be in this area for a total of 3 years, so I decided to stick with it. While I still gave it my all, it was really tough for me. Don''t get me wrong, there were moments and kids that I''ve absolutely loved, but this just is not what I want to do.

However, it is weird to be done with this part of my life, but mostly I''m just ecstatic to never have to grade another paper or write a lesson plan as long as I live!

Glad you are excited! At least you gave it a try right?

What do you plan on doing next?

I''m sorry teaching didn''t work out for you. Which year were you teaching?

Best of luck with your future career plans.

On top of wishing you the best in the future, I would like to thank you for your service to society and to those children.

Yay that''s brilliant Sabine! Best of luck today!!

That''s wonderful Sabine - best of luck in whatever you decide to do next (besides being a mommy extraordinaire

Thanks!

And strm, thanks especially to you! I have the utmost respect for those who are called to do this for a lifetime and do it well!

As for my plans, my dh and I are moving to Virginia (tomorrow!) as dh starts his Navy obligation, we''re expecting our first son in August! and after that, we might be moving around a lot for a few years while dh fulfills his Navy time, so my career plans are a bit on hold. I''m looking forward to hopefully having some time to do some volunteer work and figure out what it really is that I want to do.

Sabine -

great news! so pleased for you!

isnt it just GREAT to put down something you''ve been carrying for ages but have never enjoyed??! i hope life becomes more joyous now over every coming day. :)

Sabine, congratulations!

I know exactly how you feel! I taught for 3 years, and when I finally quit I became a whole new person. I stopped having anxiety attacks and feel much happier. (plus, I landed in a job that is a much better fit)

Enjoy your upcoming motherhood!

Congratulations, Sabine, on having the fortitude to stay with teaching for three years even though you knew it wasn''t a good fit for you!!

Best of luck to you and your DH in moving on with your life!

What do you think you will do next?

Congratulations! It''s great that you really gave it your best shot. Take care of yourself, especially in the last months of your pregnancy.

Congratulations!!! My daughter is in the same boat and wants to get out, but people think she is crazy to give up what she trained to do. But she has been in a rough school for two years, and I support her 100% if she leaves. Life is too short to be stuck in something that makes you stressed and miserable....especially at that pay level!

Congrats Sabine!! I know the feeling.

I am finishing up my fifth year teaching and last week I had a moment in class where I just thought, "I don''t want to do this anymore." I probably have to stick it out for two more years, so maybe I''ll change my mind, but I doubt it. So good for you!!! I wish I was in your shoes!

Life IS way too short to be miserable... (unfortunately this does not get me out of medicine

So glad that you will be moving on to bigger and better things

I made it for 5 years. I taught 6th grade and had only one group of kids in 5 years that I enjoyed. I had a career change when we moved to a new state for my hubby''s job. It''s been 12 years now and I don''t regret my decision whatsoever. My certificate has expired, and I don''t ever plan to renew it! Everyone seems to think I''m a natural teacher, so I end up doing a lot of training in my current job.

Good luck in whatever you do next!
