we are moving to our wonderful new home in michigan by week''s end...do y''all use shelf paper still? or that sticky "contact"
paper our mothers used(does contac(t) have a t or not??) i bought this meshy stuff a few weeks ago to line a few drawers in my kitchen-wasn''t crazy about it either...so can you help?
and if ya don''t use shelf paper or some other alternative, do your cabinet bottoms/drawers get really hacked?

thanks all! moving with FIVE kids is crazy-boxes everywhere, just a mess(professional movers, i''m so grateful-they move like lightning and looks like we''ll be in the new house a day sooner-yeah) but feeling VERY disheveled

I use the sticky paper in all of my bedroom/bathroom drawers. In the kitchen I have a combo of the sticky paper on some shelves, but then others that are used to hold appliances have the sticky mesh stuff. I don''t know, but the thought of not having the paper in there kind of grosses me out!

I use Duck smooth top easy liner. It's non-adhesive-and machine washable.

In my bedroom drawers and on my shelves as a child, my mum always lined them with gift paper from early birthdays, from my christening etc. It was a really lovely touch.

I used to use linoleum floor tiles under the sinks and the bubble mesh liner in my old kitchen. Once I put new cabinets in I don't use anything. I am not concerned with my own dirt. It's someone else dirt that grosses me out. Isn't that wierd?

I don't like anything that sticks. I like to be able to remove it and clean the drawer or shelf out and replace when necessary.

Congrats on moving into your new home!! That's awesome.

i used a thick shelf liner that was non sticky. i''ve had no problems with it.

When I lived in rental places, and in our current house before we installed new cabinets, I used contact paper because the cabinets were gross and I didn''t want to put my dishes, etc. on nasty shelves. Once we put in nice, new wood cabinets, I wouldn''t dream of putting anything sticky or rubber in them because it might damage the wood finish. I just pull things out and dust/polish once in a while, the same as with any wood furniture.

If you have kids that might make sticky messes inside cabinets or drawers, then it might be good to put down shelf paper to protect the cabinets, but I would use the non-stick kind if it is nice wod.

I never thought to line my cupboards but my mom did it when she was house setting

I used a thick grooved plastic product that is not sticky. It works great!

My mom and MIL line drawers, cabinets, and shelves. MIL even lines her refrigerator shelves and compartments... she''s no joke!

Me? I''m not that "into" lining shelves and drawers. I don''t take issue when others do, but it''s just not a me thing. Perhaps it''s because I''m too lazy.

I use corkboard for my cabinets. it''s so much easier to use since all you have to do is cut the right size. no adhesives needed, it stays put really well.
