Wedding Time Dilemma

How do you space the time between the wedding and the reception? Fi and I will not be seeing each other before the wedding. I''ll be taking my pics in between the time but i don''t have money to have a cocktail hour. Any tips or suggestions?

Could you have an hour with heavy passed appetizers and some light music played in the background? The caterer could serve non-alcohol drinks at that time, too.

When does your ceremony end, and when does the reception begin? What time of day does it all happen?

I don''t know yet...i''m leaning towards 2pm for the ceremony but not sure about the reception yet.

Do you have a reception site picked out?

If you are serving a meal and would want to wait, I''ve been to tons of weddings with a table with various cheeses, crackers, appetizers, etc. If you have hors dourves passed out, that will add to the cost because you will pay for someone to serve. And have something for them to drink while the people mingle and wait for you to be done with your pictures. You will probably have to figure more of the specifics out when you have more of the details of the reception.
