It seems to me that a lot of couples pretty much start planning a day after the engagement and I always wonder what the hurry is!?
I totally understand how you don''t really "feel" engaged until you''re planning. It''s funny because I started planning right off the bat and so I really immersed myself in the whole "engaged experience." Then I stopped completely so I could focus on school, and during that time I really didn''t feel engaged sometimes.Date: 6/16/2008 2:22:59 PM

I had an unsually long engagement, about 4 years it will be (almost 5!). When we became engaged he was in law school and then we were relocating so we anticipated it to be a long engagement. While a long engagement can be good in some ways, I have to say that at some point (at least for me), it is really silly and I just want to be married already! Also, I really did not ''feel'' engaged until I started planning the actual wedding a few months ago. So, in some ways I kinda feel cheated out of the whole ''I''m Engaged'' experience. Does that make sense?
Our wedding will be 10 days prior to our 10 year anniversary. I love him dearly and can not wait!![]()
