You know why this is especially disgusting, aside from the many obvious reasons? It's political theatre! State sanctioned murder as political theatre. The State AG is running for the senate and wants to be able to waive this flag to his prospective supporters. "he previously said he wants to "ensure" that the 21 people on Arizona's death row whose appeals have been exhausted are executed before his term ends in 2023." Just horrific.

I think the big difference (and false equivalence) there in the article is that the people on death row awaiting execution were convicted in a court of law by a jury of peers concurring without a reasonable doubt of crimes committed, then remained on death row amidst numerous appeals...The executions during the Holocaust was innocent people deemed guilty of merely belonging to certain demographics (primarily of political, heritage/ancestry, religion, or sexuality)...and nothing more.

This article is tailored to solicit an emotional reaction from the reader by means of aggrandized example.

I will not debate subjective opinion about state execution being right or wrong...we all have one of two viewpoints, and either is correct in the eyes of the beholder. State execution is, for me, one topic that has no chance of a compromise or middle ground. It either happens or it doesn't. It's seen as either necessary or unnecessary.
And I am far from qualified to exert onto others my beliefs for it one way or the other. I believe that everyone, regardless of station, is far from qualified for this particular consequential punishment. And I also believe that many an innocent folk have been wrongfully convicted and executed by a court of law and jury of peers in the past, just as I believe that many an evil folk have been, as well.
