Thoughts and prayers for an old friend

I just found out that my FI dog has passed away...

Bear, ''Moonpie'' as I affectionately called him, was an old border collie/choco lab mix. He belonged to my FI older brother, but took it upon himself to move in with my FI family instead, as they showed him more love. He was about 13-15 years old, and did live a long and happy life with my FI family.

They found him today not able to get up, and quickly got him to the vet, where they found out that he had complete liver and kidney failure. They were given some options, but opted to have him put down.

This isn''t a tragedy, but I am so sad. I will really miss him, he was a very loving and good friend.

So sorry for your loss! We have a yorkie and a border collie x lab mix and I would be devastated if anything happened to them! Some people downplay the loss of pets but they really are like children for a lot of people.

Thank you eveyone. I feel the saddest about not being able to say goodbye to him. It''s just a weird feeling knowing that I will never see him again, never be greeted by his barking and tail wagging. I always had a hard time with death of any sort, I feel like it closes down another chapter of life, more time that I can never get back. I have a tendency to get over analytical and overly sentimental at times.
