This new *saying* - *love, love, love it* - anyone know where it came from?

It is starting to get a bit over done, done, done . . .

Thanks.

23 views & no comments - really . . . sigh ...

The first time I heard it was on SNL years ago, it was a coined by one of Molly Shannon''s characters. This is going back at least 8 years since her last season was in 2001 - so this is not a new saying by any extent.

According to Wikipedia, the character was:
Helen Madden, an overly exuberant self-proclaimed "Joyologist", who appeared on talk shows with the trademark catchphrase "I love it, I love it!"

You can probably catch a clip of it on You Tube. She was so funny on SNL!

No one is saying that around here.

I think it has been around awhile; I do not heard it anymore. It probably came back, but I hope not! I use to work at the mall and this girl I worked with would say it ALL the time, about our new clothes that came in each season.

I can just hear her now! Every new shirt, skirt, pants, she loved, loved, loved it and it was SUPER CUTE!

This was back in 2000 I think.

The only place I''ve "heard" it is here on PS.

Wow. I just said that about a dress over in BIW. I don''t say it often. Only when I really do "love, love, love" something. I dunno. I guess it doesn''t irritate me.

You can bet I won''t be saying that on here anymore though.

I only say that about kids...

as in "I love, love, love you!!!!"

I don''t mind it as much as Rachel Zoe''s "I die!" or "bananas"

I don''t get the big deal. I also don''t think its a "new saying."

I never really thought of it as a saying.

I once wrote "I love, love, LOVE to travel" on an index card for part of a grad school class. I didn''t think I was using a saying, I was just overemphasizing my love for travel.

That was back in 2004.

I think Oprah can be blamed ... I can "hear" her saying it. But it doesn''t bother me. I probably use it myself ...

I have said that for as long as I can remember... If I really think something is great. I have never heard anyone say it in real life, or here on PS- at least not to the point that it is "done, done, done".

I am guilty of saying Love it, when I adore a PS''ers ring... Kinda tired of saying wow, that''s stunning, or oh that''s gorgeous. Love it, says it all.

Hoping I haven''t over used it... Hey at least I don''t say, Loves it, ala Paris Hilton!!!!

Me too; there are things I do love on PS and say it!

I don't think it is just saying love it; I think how it is said though, that is why the SNL character had her love love love it skit.

eta: Deco, you are right Oprah does say love it, often!!!

--- I also don''t think its a "new saying." ---

I put the word *saying* in asterisks because I did not know what else to call it. I''ve only hear it used recently but often.

Thanks, all, for your input.

Guilty..I say it.

Post award show clothing commentators always say this.
