Went to see the new Michael Jackson movie tonight. It was AMAZING! And I am NOT a Michael Jackson fan. I felt so sorry for all the people who worked so hard to make the show, audition for the show, provide back up, etc... It would have really been awesome in person. Please go see it!

Hmm I thought most places were sold out??? I didn''t even bother looking at tickets because I thought I''d never get any!

How long was it?

Why is it only showing for 2 weeks?

Sounds like a gimmick.

I think the decision to show the movie for only two weeks was a business decision from everything I''ve read.
Kenny Ortega and AEG did have between twenty and thirty million dollars to recoup of the fronted funds that they gave Michael and I personally think they wanted to make money on it too because they had hopes of making hundreds of millions from his concerts. The two week thing, and buying your tickets a month before hand, and even the press pass type lanyard that they gave everyone who saw the movie was all a promotional effort. Having said that......

We saw the movie last night and we were both very glad that we went and we were a part of this tribute of sorts to Michael. It was really quite good and very entertaining. I wouldn''t have wanted to miss it. Lots that I read before hand said it was so sad and "oh, he looked like a man on the verge of death". No he didn''t. Michael looked absolutely fantastic, with it, and on the money with everything he did. We both walked out of the theater and the word phenomenal passed our lips. As an entertainer? He was a phenomenon. Quite extraordinary.

I guarantee that in two weeks it will not be buried in a vault forever.
They will continue to make money with it in perpetuity.
Nothing wrong with that.

I just think the 2-week rush-to-get-your-ticket-everyone was a tacky gimmick that insults our intelligence, and frankly it makes me want to see it less.
I don't care for being manipulated.

ah, we get manipulated everyday by various marketing forces..probably every second.

I personally really want to see it but need to find a babysitter! It''s gotten fantastic reviews.

I saw it yesterday and enjoyed it, although I wouldn''t call if fantastic or anything. Maybe I was expecting something else? I think I expected there to be more commentary, interaction with Michael and the producers, crew, etc. Instead it was essentially a concert on film. Once I realized that was all it was going to be, I enjoyed it quite a bit though! I had a hard time remembering that he was no longer alive. There will never be a talent like him again!
