Actually, this was quite interesting! Thanks, Kenny!

LOL! Oh and yes we do find it amusing when foreigners get them mixed up. The main one I hear is people thinking that Scotland and Wales are parts of England...

They missed quite a few of the Commonwealth countries out - Kiribati for example...

My god, my ears couldn't keep up! How does that guy talk so fast?

Pandora, I get you about people mixing the names up. My husband is Dutch & people often say, "Holland.....isn't that part of Denmark?"

That's a more complicated one:

The Netherlands - often referred to as Holland but actually 12 provinces (including a bit in the Caribbean).
Holland - really only 2 of the provinces of the Netherlands (North Holland & South Holland).
Dutch - the language, people and anything from the Netherlands.

I knew somebody was gonna say that! Okay, we'll call it Netherlands -- people usually say Holland because Netherlands is too much of a mouthful. Even the Dutch call it Holland, I lived there 5 yrs & DH grew up in Rotterdam till he came to the US of A at 30 yrs old. At any rate, NONE of it is in Denmark! :|
