Came across this article this morning which is kind or ironic considering a conversation I had with DH recently.

He is getting me a new radio for our car that will have Bluetooth so I can listen to Pandora for Mother's Day! So I asked him if I could get one with a CD player because I might want to play my Counting Crows CD. He told me I could get the whole album off YouTube as he looked at me with this hopeless look on his face LOL!

Anyways I got a kick out of this article, how many of these things can you relate to?

Cool pics! I love the one with the guy in his car with his shirt unbuttoned to his navel looking at his giant CD binder. Who ever thought that was a good look?

Bluetooth story will be nothing compared to when autonomous cars come about, apparently in the very near future. I recently listened to a presentation from General Motors executive who predicts that no one will need a driver's license in 5-10 years.

Wow I loved these haha.

At work we have instant messaging for interoffice, and I've often caught myself calling it MSN.

WHAT?! That is crazy to me, I know a lot of people embrace technology but I have a hard time with it. I think it's the loss of tangibility.

+ 1 and not only will cars drive themselves but in theory you could use voice command to get the car to play any song you wanted, in fact we are at the level of cars responding to voice commands now.

I just draw the line at multiple gold chains hanging down amongst all that chest hair :lol::lol:.

I love watching Magnum PI re-runs in order to get my fix of chest hair.
And he is still sexy as ever even now. :D

When I bought my first new car in 2001, I insisted to the sales guy that I didn't want a CD player because I only owned tapes. I ended up keeping that car until about a year ago and even a CD player is almost obsolete now!

In 2002 or 2003, a friend of mine was picking up a keg for our party and put his book of about 250 CDs on the roof of the car to get the keg in. He drove off and the CDs fell - never to be seen again. He was DEVASTATED.

My DH and I are always quoting something from our favorite movies, some oldies like Godfather and some recent ones like Chasing Amy and Swingers and the kids always stare at us like we're crazy. "Tracer!!!" "Your mother's a tracer!" You all probably think I'm weird too...

So this GM exec is going to buy me one of her company's new cars?
Or are we all expected to throw away our perfectly good cars because we are their bitches to suck money out of?

I don't want a car that can be hacked.

Until just a few years ago, my job has been to take brand new, bleeding-edge technology and figure out how to apply/adapt/improve it to meet my (company's) needs, so I'm comfortable with it, but some things make me think twice.

I don't want a car or tv that can be hacked so it looks like no smart tv's for this family. I know DH had been looking at one a few years ago, glad I talked him out of it!

I saved, and still own, all my vinyl record albums and my 45 rpm records!

OMG - I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Everyone my age knows someone who's done this before.:lol::naughty:

I do a lot of mobile development and frankly, I love my car. Love not having to lug around cd's anymore. Love that I can tell it to turn on the damn wipers or change temps, or change channels, or send somebody a text message. and Man I love my new phone.

In more ways than one I've probably adapted quicker than most in my peer group mainly because I don't work with people in my peer group...lol

Now if only I didn't have to actually exercise to have a great body things could be pretty peachy...
